I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

You know you need a space to think your own thoughts and figure this out for yourself. Or perhaps you struggle with crippling anxiety that has lead to some avoidant behaviors. I firmly believe there is a function to our behavior. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes not. And sometimes, while our behavior made sense at one time, maybe even to the point of saving our life, it is no longer serving us. We're all just doing the best that we can but sometimes the way we're coping leads to highly negative impacts on our body, mind, spirit, & relationships. A wise mentor once shared with me that our capacity for change comes from our ability (and willingness) to reflect. I seek to empower my clients to gain the tools and self-awareness they need in order to cultivate a sense of peace and personal agency.

My clients often come to me feeling that life—whether it's motherhood, marriage, or life in general—hasn't turned out the way they hoped. I frequently hear from new clients: “I feel overwhelmed.” “I’m stuck and don’t know how to move forward.” “I feel like I’m failing my kids.” “I’m burnt out, but I don’t know what to change.” Can you relate? Motherhood is hard, and it can be even harder when you're struggling with guilt, shame, boundaries, and perfectionism. Without support, it’s easy to stay stuck and keep feeding those negative beliefs.

I believe every human has innate worth and value, but we can become distracted or disconnected from that through the course of life. The greatest source of healing comes from a deeper connection with the self. Through building a personal relationship to ourselves we influence every other aspect of our lives. By empowering clients to build internal attachment through mind, body, and heart, I see people become their own source of growth, trust and resilience.

At Very Well Therapy, I help you slow down, release shame, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been working so hard to protect you. Together, we’ll create space for healing that feels safe, compassionate, and sustainable.
I believe healing happens in relationship — with ourselves, our emotions, and others. Many of us have learned to survive by disconnecting from our true self.

You’ve built a life that looks successful from the outside, so why does it feel so heavy on the inside? Most of my clients are smart, driven, and deeply capable entrepreneurs, high performers, and helpers. At some point, the pressure piles up, the pace stops working, and you realize you’re running on fumes. Maybe you’re burnt out, stuck in imposter syndrome, navigating a big transition, or noticing old trauma resurfacing. None of this means you’re failing. It means you’re human, and you’ve been carrying more than anyone should have to carry alone.

Today's world can be overwhelming and lonely. With so much happening around us it can create a feeling of being stuck, high anxiety and/or depression. This is the year of change for many! Although exciting, making changes can be difficult and can lead to feelings of isolation. These transitions may include divorce, job loss, reentering the work force, becoming a teenager or adult, leaving or changing your religion, moving, new relationship, parenting, losing a loved one, sobriety, exploring gender identity/sexuality and more. If you want to feel empowered, now is the time to take action. I'd love to get you there.

My ideal client is someone who feels motivated to find empowerment over their own life. My ideal client is someone who wants to use therapy as a space to explore, express, process, brainstorm, feel, connect, and create. Therapy is a resource to them to assist in the ongoing challenges that arise as a result of being human. They want a therapist who will both support them and challenge them. They may have a background of traumatic experiences, they may have an official or unofficial diagnosis of neurodivergence, or they may be someone who simply feels like we would be a good therapist/client match.

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
