Using research supported modalities such as IFS, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Somatic approaches, my clients generally see significant improvement in their problems and a reduction in anxiety/depression within the first few 2-3 sessions.
I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

Allison enjoys seeing clients who have felt that 'talk therapy' has not worked for them in the past, this is due to her conscious, somatic, and psychoeducational approach to treatment.
Allison's philosophy: Life's struggles stem from multiple areas. I believe in a whole-self/systems approach. The use of this philosophy offers an analysis of how the inner system - body, mind, spirit, emotion - connects to the outer system - family, culture, community. I believe when one area is out of balance, it impacts everything else.

Through our collaboration, we'll build a personalized somatic toolkit to help you process grief, regain safety in your body, and transition from survival mode to authentic, grounded resilience.
Major life transitions—like a diagnosis, a death, or a shift in faith—often strip away the labels we used to define ourselves. If you are in the midst of a faith deconstruction, navigating spiritual abuse, or adjusting to a long-term illness, you might feel a profound sense of disorientation. I help clients grieve the life they thought they would have, so they can embrace the life they are actually living. I offer a safe, affirming space where you can voice suppressed doubts and fears.

Looking to reduce or avoid medication? Want a sustainable alternative to conventional talk therapy? You recognize that mental health is not all in your head, but you wonder what else you can do. Whether you suffer from depression, anxiety, bipolar, or ADHD, my approach is not one you'll find with other therapists. I believe mental, spiritual, and physical health are one. They should not be treated like separate parts in a car. Aside from trauma, there is a physiological cause of mental illness. But medication only covers up symptoms; it doesn't help you heal in the long-run.

If you’ve tried traditional talk therapy and still feel stuck, you’re not alone and it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Sometimes the brain and nervous system need a different kind of support. I offer an integrative approach that combines counseling with neurofeedback and biofeedback to help regulate your brain, improve focus, sleep, and emotional balance, and create lasting change. Many clients find this approach helpful, especially when other methods haven’t fully worked. You deserve to feel better, and I’d be honored to support you!

For Families, Teens and Adolescents: Through a strengths-based lens and a systems approach, I work with each family according to their unique needs, goals, challenges, and strengths. Teenager's capacity to work through difficulties while cultivating joy, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and perspective taking, is contingent on the clinician and caregivers ability to hold space for them along the way. I believe that structure, coupled with individualized attention, flexible interventions and examining family dynamics, are key to helping young people develop a strong sense of self and wellbeing in today’s tumultuous world.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
