I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

Feeling trapped, unable to navigate your daily life? Are your relationships and confidence suffering? Post-traumatic events can transform even minor decisions into daunting challenges. Clients I assist grapple with despair, anxiety, and loneliness, yearning for a life liberated from these struggles. Amidst it all, happiness may seem unattainable. Yet, resisting only prolongs the struggle. To embrace the life we desire, we must first confront and address our trauma, paving the way for genuine healing and the pursuit of a fulfilling life. I integrate IFS and parts work into helping my clients find hope and healing.

I work with clients who are navigating sexual assault, domestic violence, life transitions and more.
Experiences can impact individuals differently. Through an authentic therapeutic relationship, my desire is to provide safety for you to be heard, supported, and offered tools to navigate these experiences in a trauma informed approach. Are you tired of “talking about it” but still not feeling better? You've tried therapy, read the books, or pushed yourself to “move on”—but your nervous system hasn’t. You suffer the effects of trauma: hypervigilance, emotional exhaustion, relationship struggles, or the constant undercurrent of shame. What will better mental health make possible? I work with adults carrying the invisible weight of trauma and neglect —often from childhood, sometimes from adulthood, and often both. My clients are deeply insightful and resilient, but still feel stuck. Together, we heal symptoms related to dissociation, anxiety, and complex PTSD.

Maybe you're going through something painful or confusing—maybe it’s a recent life change, old wounds that won’t stay buried, or emotions that feel too big to handle alone. You might not know exactly what you need, but you know you'd like to feel better, more grounded, and more like yourself. What matters most to is finding a safe, supportive space where you don’t have to perform or protect others—where you can be real, be heard, and start to heal at your own pace.

If boundaries are good for me, why are they so scary? Many of us were never taught how to set healthy boundaries with those around us, let alone know what a boundary even is. This can lead to you feeling pushed around, taken advantage of, or that you’re small, like your voice doesn’t matter. I’m here to tell you that your voice DOES matter, and that you get to make and set the rules of your life. You have the ultimate say, it’s just a matter of learning to trust yourself and being bold about what you want and need.

Life and relationships bring vulnerability, often accompanied by pain and betrayal. Unprocessed, these experiences shape our self-image and future connections. Hurt or trauma can leave us feeling small, lonely, and burdened by secrecy or shame. Collaboratively, I help clients unlock patterns and painful experiences, fostering awareness and facilitating their journey towards embracing a fuller, unencumbered life.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
