I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

I’m skilled at seeing the emotional system beneath the surface and seeing what’s not being said — how anxieties, loss of self-worth, and relational pain are often connected threads in the same story.
Relationship issues aren’t just about fights or silence- they’re rooted in patterns that no longer work, systems that may have once helped you cope, but now create distance, resentment, and pain. I help you make sense of those dynamics, get honest about what’s not working, and shift from blame to accountability. Together, we’ll explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, apply practical communication skills, and bring hope back into focus. You are trying way to hard in your relationships with yourself or others to remain feeling stuck. Let’s get you moving!

Maybe you've been overwhelmed for a while, or just not like yourself lately. You want to feel better, but feel held back by anxious thoughts and emotions that are hard to manage. Sometimes in life, we get stuck, reliving a difficult past or worried about an uncertain future. I like to help people get back to living in the present. Maybe that's by processing through parts of your story, learning to cope with anxiety, or having someone alongside you as you navigate big life changes. It may look like letting go of shame, or gaining new perspectives on yourself and your relationships. We can work through it together at your pace.

Life is full of uncertainty and change. Uncertainty can bring anxiety, fear of the unknown, and a sense of losing control. Change—even wanted change—can be scary. It can stir up grief, feelings of loss, identity confusion, and overwhelm. I’m especially passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ individuals carrying identity questions, internalized shame, or existential dread. I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, identity questions, chronic worry, relationship patterns, major life transitions, and the "what ifs" that make life feel heavy. I support clients in navigating these challenges with clarity and courage.

I love working with life transitions, self esteem, relationship issues, chronic illness, and anxiety.
I work with people who are feeling anxious, stuck in self-doubt, or uncertain about relationships, identity, or direction in life. Many of my clients appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally, caught in overthinking, people-pleasing, or feeling like they’re “behind” where they should be. Therapy with me is warm, honest, and collaborative. I help you slow down the noise, understand the patterns that keep you stuck, and build a more grounded, trusting relationship with yourself. My approach is compassionate, relational, and insight-oriented, while also rooted in practical tools and evidence-based treatment

I specialize in relationship issues of all kinds, trauma in both childhood and adulthood, and self-esteem issues.
My ideal client knows something isn’t working, even if they can’t name it. They may feel anxious, numb, overwhelmed, stuck in patterns, or burdened by trauma, addiction, grief, or shame. Many carry pain from early relationships that still affects their lives. What matters most is a willingness to show up and go deep. Therapy with me is collaborative, direct, and emotionally rich. I work best with people ready to explore discomfort, face what’s been avoided, and commit to real, lasting change. Consistency and depth are core to meaningful change and self-understanding. As such, I typically meet with clients 1-3x weekly.

My practice is named En Route because in my experience all of us are on some form of journey. Sometimes our journeys are smooth, other times they're complicated and maybe frightening. Very few people create and sustain change all alone. Community is essential and it can be fun. There are so many directions to head and goals to accomplish on our journeys; it is my honor and privilege to join people and groups on their paths. Turns out a lot of us learn best by doing. Horses help us make real time change and offer instant feedback. It doesn't hurt that horses have much in common with people and act as great relationship role models.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
