I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

Reaching out is a big deal, so let’s skip the clinical jargon: life gets messy, old patterns keep repeating, and sometimes everything just feels like "too much." If you’re tired of feeling stuck in the same loops, your past might be providing the roadmap, but it doesn’t have to dictate your future. I’m a straight-shooting, non-judgmental therapist here to help you untangle it all. Specializing in complex trauma, anxiety, and ADHD, I work with individuals and couples to build self-awareness, reclaim identity, and establish internal security. Together, we’ll use EMDR and practical tools to move from survival mode to transformation.

I'm trained in EMDR, RLT, EFT, CBT, and the Gottman method.
You’re the one everyone turns to: at work, at home, in a crisis. From the outside, it looks like you have it together. Inside, you’re exhausted. You deeply crave a break from it all but every time you slow down you feel more anxious, not less. You lie awake running through tomorrow’s to-do list and yesterday's mistakes. You feel guilty more often than not for no apparent reason. You say yes when you want to say no, then beat yourself up for feeling resentful. To make it worse, now your relationship is suffering and you don't know how to right the course. You wonder if this is all there is to life?

Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in a dark cave with waves crashing all around. Together we can create safety, explore the space you are in, and guide you back into the light to continue on your journey. While the climb out can feel overwhelming and impossible at times, I will be there to take each step with you at your pace. My clinic focuses on women and the journey of healing trauma (from loss, abuse, hardships, isolation, and any part of your story that hurts) and relationships both past and present. While my main focus is on women, I also work with couples and children in order to support the healing process.

There are many different kinds of trauma that can leave your nervous system stuck in survival mode—shut down, high alert, or just not able to fully settle. You may feel disconnected from yourself, your body, or your life. Things that used to feel simple can now feel overwhelming, confusing, or out of reach. It can be frightening to feel this way, especially when you don’t understand why it’s happening or how to make it stop. This isn't a personal failure. Your nervous system is responding exactly the way it was designed to under prolonged stress or overwhelm. If this resonates with you, I'll be glad to walk through this with you.

Like others, maintaining my own positive mental health is work. This can often mean letting myself feel something and letting it go, or identifying the underlying issue and giving it validation. I believe as an adult, if I don't like something I have the power to change it, whether it is my perspective or behavior. I feel that encouraging that same power for change in my clients can help propel them in a direction towards their genuine selves. Having the peace within ourselves means the opportunity for peace to exist around us.

It can be so nerve-wracking to let a stranger into your life! I personally know how difficult that can be, so I strive to be a safe, warm, and friendly space for all people to be seen and heard. No person, couple or family is the same. Although people may have similar life issues such as marital issues, anxiety, and depression, each person experiences it differently due to their unique upbringings, family dynamics, spiritual beliefs, and socio-cultural differences.

Life can be incredibly complex, and at times, we may find ourselves weighed down by persistent sadness, anxiety, or negative thoughts that seem to cloud our ability to move forward. Whether these feelings stem from everyday stressors, unresolved past experiences and traumatic events, or underlying mood disorders, they can shape how we see ourselves and the world around us.

You expected motherhood to be a time full of joy. But instead, your days are filled with worry and self-doubt. Nights stretch long as your mind replays every decision, every moment, every “what if.” Anxiety wakes you in the early hours, while shame quietly urges you to hide how hard this really feels. Infertility, loss, or a birth that still shakes your body can leave you carrying emotions that few people see. On the outside, you may look composed. But inside, you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsure how to find your footing again. What you want most now is relief, steadiness, and the chance to feel like yourself again.

Gottman Method Therapists
How does the Gottman method work?
One of the core doctrines of the Gottman method is that negative emotions hurt relationships about five times more than positive emotions help them. Thus, couples require five times more positive interactions than negative interactions with each other. The therapist will guide clients on how to improve communication and understanding of each other to manage conflict and have their emotional needs met. The therapist will also advise couples on how to repair relations with each other when conflict arises, and therefore avoid lasting damage.

Is the Gottman method evidence-based?
Yes, this method is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy. The method is based on more than 40 years of research by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the psychologists who developed the method. The Gottmans analyzed decades of data to draw conclusions about what types of interactions are likely to lead to specific results, and which interventions are most likely to lead to success. Studies have found that this approach leads to improvements in relationship satisfaction, intimacy, communication skills, and a lower rate of divorce.

How long does the Gottman method take?
The duration of treatment depends on the specific challenges clients face. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes long, and an average course of treatment is around 10 sessions. In some cases, such as for couples dealing with a critical problem, the therapist will suggest an intensive course of treatment, with daily sessions over the first two to four days. Treatment is complete when the couple is satisfied and has met the goals they’ve set, and when the therapist believes they have the skills to continue on their own.

Is the Gottman method effective?
Through the Gottman method, couples can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. This treatment has been used for more than 40 years; the method is supported by empirical research, including randomized controlled trials that have demonstrated effectiveness in improving relationship outcomes for couples. Like any talk therapy, success or failure depends in large part on how committed the clients are to making positive changes and working toward results.
