Feeling stuck? Like things aren’t changing? Wondering if your relationship with your spouse or partner will ever improve or if you will just continue in the same cyclical patterns? You might be feeling lonelier than ever as you wrestle with these questions quietly in your heart. You wonder who you can talk to as everyone around you seems to be biased in someway. You know you need a space to think your own thoughts and figure this out for yourself. Or perhaps you struggle with crippling anxiety that has lead to some avoidant behaviors. Either way, you know you want to regain your confidence and feel better.

I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

I use a blend of approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT) for couples/individuals, and trauma-informed care rooted in somatic awareness and attachment theory.
Picture reaching for your spouse and knowing they will be there to respond—offering warmth, understanding, and reassurance. You have a marriage where love flows freely, trust feels effortless, and your bond is stronger than ever. You and your spouse are not just surviving—you are thriving, deeply connected, and at peace. Laughter fills your home, conversations are open and meaningful, and intimacy feels safe and fulfilling. You need help getting there. Right now, your relationship may feel fragile, weighed down by betrayal, hurt, and disconnection. But hope is not lost. Healing is possible. Let's begin. Your best chapter is waiting.

Feeling stuck in life? Struggling with compulsive behavior? Battling sexual addiction and the shame that accompanies it? Suffering from traumatic betrayal in your relationship? These are heavy issues for most therapists to treat, much less trying to navigate them on your own. You deserve support and guidance from a therapist who is not only familiar with these issues, but also has over 20 years of counseling experience working with adults, couples and partners.

I believe in the power of connection. I believe in the healing and growth that can take place by allowing yourself to sit in a non-judgmental safe space. To tell your story, your truth, without the distraction of kids, spouse, partner, work, and technology. I will help you make connections and better understand how your past experiences and relationships show up in your present day. I can help you build resiliency and develop coping strategies for increased distress tolerance. I work with young adults and adults in areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, low self esteem, and mood issues.

Therapy is a space where people don’t have to face life alone—healing often begins through being heard, understood, and working together toward growth. I work with children, teens, adults, marriages, and families in need of counseling. I recognize that life is a challenge. I bring to therapy life experience and kindness. I have worked with a wide variety of clients and I am particularly passionate about those experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, grief, and trauma. Therapy is a courageous step and I love to see the growth as clients take this journey. The gift of listening and caring is the key to good therapy and healing.

If boundaries are good for me, why are they so scary? Many of us were never taught how to set healthy boundaries with those around us, let alone know what a boundary even is. This can lead to you feeling pushed around, taken advantage of, or that you’re small, like your voice doesn’t matter. I’m here to tell you that your voice DOES matter, and that you get to make and set the rules of your life. You have the ultimate say, it’s just a matter of learning to trust yourself and being bold about what you want and need.

I work with anyone who is looking to improve their experience of life, relationships, and themselves. I take a holistic and systemic approach as the experience of the outer world is largely affected by one’s inner world, and vice versa. I love exploring the system within and helping clients connect with their inner self in order to heal unhelpful patterns of behavior/thought. I am looking for those interested in getting curious and gaining insight about themselves in order to achieve desired goals.

You want to explore and live a more authentic and meaningful life but feel lost, scared, and uncertain about how to move forward and are afraid of losing important relationships. Clients I work with feel distress in relationships, turmoil within themself, and disconnection from those around them. They may engage in unhealthy coping skills such as lashing out in anger, school or work avoidance, anxiety, depression, addiction, and disengagement from social life and family. They may think, feel, and see the world differently than those around them. If this sounds familiar I can help you build a more fulfilling life.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
