Feeling stuck? Like things aren’t changing? Wondering if your relationship with your spouse or partner will ever improve or if you will just continue in the same cyclical patterns? You might be feeling lonelier than ever as you wrestle with these questions quietly in your heart. You wonder who you can talk to as everyone around you seems to be biased in someway. You know you need a space to think your own thoughts and figure this out for yourself. Or perhaps you struggle with crippling anxiety that has lead to some avoidant behaviors. Either way, you know you want to regain your confidence and feel better.

I love helping a person become their best version of themselves. Most people seeking counseling feel defeated. My strategies help them find hope and to develop new approaches to help them become powerful people with tangible and deep changes in how they feel and in their beliefs about themselves so that they are living lives of joy and fulfillment. Ideally a client is ready to try new approaches to their life, is ready to get out of the constant cycle of overthinking, and is ready to take a journey deep inside where they can heal emotionally and physically, and emerge ready to truly LIVE.

Resentments, unresolved conflicts, sexual intimacy problems, trust issues, infidelity, pornography use, growing apart and thinking about divorce are the issues that I really like working with.
Conflict Resolution and Sexual Intimacy are my areas of expertise. With almost 20 years of experience as a marriage and sex therapy I've created a philosophy and roadmap to help couples figure out what they want and what is keeping them from getting what they want.

I believe people are capable of overcoming the challenges they face in life when they have support from a therapist who draws from their core values and strengths. I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and self-harm/suicidal ideation. I am passionate about treating individuals who are working to overcome eating disorders. There is an enormous amount of pressure in society to be perfect, this greatly intensifies symptoms that can be improved with support. Empowering others and watching the process of awareness and recovery has been a rewarding and humbling experience.

You’ve worked so hard to do everything right...to show up, keep faith, and hold it all together. But lately it feels like you’re running on empty. You may feel disconnected from God, uncertain of yourself, or weary from trying to stay strong for everyone else. Deep down, you just want to feel like you again.

I believe that if someone is willing to be honest with him or herself and is willing to change, then all things are possible. I work hard to help people find their own answers. If I were looking for a therapist, I would want to be sure that the therapist would be a great listener, would be willing to accept my values, and would be able to guide me into solutions for my problems. Those are the qualities I work hard to bring into therapy. Not very many therapists have emphasized men's issues in their practice. I help men understand themselves, and women seeking to understand their partner or other important people in their life.

I’ve been practicing mental health care since 1996, and for nearly three decades I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people in some of the hardest seasons of their lives. Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen, heard, and safe with me, and that trust is something I hold with great care. I come from a multi generational military family and recently retired from the U.S. Army as a mental health provider myself, so I deeply understand what it’s like to carry responsibility, pressure, and experiences that don’t easily leave the nervous system. This work is a part of who I am and it gives my life profound purpose.

My clients have tried talk traditional talk therapy and have felt like they've hit a wall. The same patterns keep showing up in relationships, in work, in how they treat themselves. I work with people who need more than surface-level coping strategies, who want to trust themselves again without second-guessing every decision.

I am passionate about strengthening family bonds and helping individuals and couples move out of cycles of disconnection, conflict, and emotional distance. Using a systemic and collaborative approach, I view challenges not as individual failures, but as patterns shaped by relationships, family dynamics, and lived experiences. Together, we explore these patterns and create space for healing, growth, and unlocking potential.

I have practiced as an LCSW since about 1996 and have worked with a variety of issues that people face. Facing these issues and dealing with life can be difficult at times. I have worked for more than 27 years as a therapist, enjoying the interactions with my clients, helping them individually and as families to manage their struggles. I wouldn't say that the clients I work with are the same as other people but that they have an unique constellations of problems. There are often generational, or cultural issues that need to be taken into account. They are individuals that know their solutions will come from their own efforts.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
