Feeling stuck? Like things aren’t changing? Wondering if your relationship with your spouse or partner will ever improve or if you will just continue in the same cyclical patterns? You might be feeling lonelier than ever as you wrestle with these questions quietly in your heart. You wonder who you can talk to as everyone around you seems to be biased in someway. You know you need a space to think your own thoughts and figure this out for yourself. Or perhaps you struggle with crippling anxiety that has lead to some avoidant behaviors. Either way, you know you want to regain your confidence and feel better.

I blend in CBT, some ACT therapy, talk therapy, sand tray therapy and expressive art to support the ways that kids naturally learn and express themselves.
I am a social worker specializing in work with children and their families, guided by a child-centered approach that prioritizes safety, connection and each child's unique emotional needs. I believe meaningful change happens within supportive family systems and partner closely with caregivers to promote growth and understanding. Play therapy is a central part of my work, allowing children to express themselves, build emotional regulation and develop resilience in developmentally appropriate ways. My goal is to support children while strengthening families so they can grow and thrive together, learn to have fun again and thrive.

You’re the strong one. The oldest daughter, the helper, the fixer — the glue that keeps everyone else okay. But somewhere along the way, you lost you. Now you’re exhausted, anxious, so burnt out trying to be ‘good enough’ for everyone. You want permission to rest, say no, and still believe you’re worthy. Maybe faith is part of your story — comforting but complicated sometimes. You’re not too much for me. You’re allowed to show up messy here. You don’t have to hold it all alone anymore.

I work with adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, burnout, making sense of the world, or finding balancing their lives. Clients may feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or may struggle with self-care. Life may have dealt an unanticipated blow or event, and they need support processing it. They're seeking to regain clarity, shift focus from fear-based thinking, and find healthier coping mechanisms. Goals are to improve well-being, build resilience, and create balance, so they can move forward with intention, feel confident in their choices, and prioritize what truly matters.

I have seen more resiliency than I ever thought imaginable. I specialize in working to heal current and past trauma. I have worked with the abused/neglected youth and adults, behavioral issues, domestic violence, postpartum depression, addiction, anxiety, depression, borderline, PTSD, bipolar, OCD and more. Throughout all of my work, I have learned how unique each individual is and how unique each of their healing processes are. I believe in the power of the mind and sometimes the need to heal that mind to find the power hidden beneath.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
