Looking for something non traditional that your child can actually engage in? Have you tried therapy before, or have a kid who "doesn't like to talk about it?" Then you have found the right place. Strides approaches therapy differently. Everything we do is experiential or play based, working on real problems in real time with skills for both child and parents. Kids don't get a lot out of sitting on a couch across from an adult and talking about their feelings, but they can gain a lot of skills from facing real frustrations, real challenges, real fears in real time with therapeutic support.

Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or life transitions. They may feel stuck, unsure of their direction, or disconnected from the person they want to be. My clients are looking for a supportive space to talk openly, gain clarity, and develop tools to handle life’s challenges with more confidence.

I practice specialized therapies called ERP, ICBT and EMDR that are considered highly effective for OCD and trauma treatment.
Do you struggle with trauma or OCD? Hi, I’m Grace and I help people with difficult parents get past their childhoods. If your home life was chaotic or straight up disturbing and now you're a nervous perfectionist let's talk. My client's wish for emotional stability. They worry about worst case scenarios constantly. Their minds never calm down. But mostly they struggle with guilt and shame. Whatever the actual diagnosis is, they feel like they are never enough. They feel like everything is their fault. They look back on their childhood memories and cringe because they feel unbearable.

I utilize other approaches such as EMDR and ERP to help clients change unhealthy patterns.
At the heart of my work is the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and self-discovery when provided with the right environment. Grounded in a person-centered approach, I offer a space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. My role is not to tell you who to be, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, uncover your strengths, and move toward the life you want to live. Together, we’ll create a collaborative relationship built on empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard—because I believe that real change begins with feeling understood.

All are welcome! I work the most with individuals and couples that are navigating multiple intersecting identities and mental health concerns. As a trans veteran, I find it easy to connect with members of the LGBTQ and veteran communities. I can help members navigate life and the nuances that come with those identities by drawing on experience, training, and education. Clients often find that not having to explain things that feel basic really makes therapy accessible. This baseline can help the navigation of trauma and PTSD to feel less dark and lonely.

Right now, it feels hopeless. That's where I come in, helping dads recover from phobias and insomnia. In the words of the poet Hafez, "Fear is the cheapest room in the house. I would like to see you in better living conditions." The cycles of rumination, avoidance, and sleepless nights can make you believe that you will never feel like yourself again. You're looking into therapy because you want to feel better and reconnect to the most important relationships and activities in your life.

I believe that we are relational beings, designed for meaningful connection. I feel privileged to see this as kids connect with their parents, as couples repair and strengthen attachment bonds, and as I connect with individuals about some of the the most vulnerable areas of life. In therapy (even virtually) we can engage with these vulnerable spaces in a way that creates healing and strength in our relationships and in ourselves.

For trauma-related concerns, I utilize EMDR, and for OCD, I use Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP).
I work with clients and couples experiencing OCD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and those have been impacted by traumatic events. I also enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families through major life changes, faith transitions, and the impacts of grief and loss. As a former firefighter and the partner of a full-time firefighter, I understand the demands of first responder careers, including how careers can impact relationships, and I am passionate about helping couples connect amid challenging life circumstances.

Does this sound like you? You’re a woman trying to hold everything together after divorce or betrayal, but inside you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to move forward. You replay conversations. You question yourself. You wonder how things got here, and how to feel like you again. Or, you might be a teenager feeling pressure from school and relationships. A parent carrying more than you can hold. Or a couple who loves each other but feels stuck in the same frustrating patterns. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Therapy can help you move through what feels stuck.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
