I believe that there is no one “right” way or route to take in life. In my work I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach. Together we will create your life worth living- loving connections, playfulness, meaning, and purpose. While this work is going to be hard that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it along the way. Together we will celebrate victories, no matter how small. We will laugh, grieve, be angry, cry, and smile throughout the process. Healing can feel very lonely but my hope is that I can provide my clients a safe place to go through it all. I promise that it will be worth it.

I earned my master’s degree in 2014. I prefer working with clients ages 18+ and especially enjoy seeing couples (pre-marital/marital). I like to utilize various models of therapy but value how Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT) helps clients recognize their inherent strengths and overall resilience when facing life’s challenges. I also use Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to address distress in partner relationships.

Life stressors and traumatic events often cause anxiety, depression, and other disruptions in our daily lives. There is no need to carry these burdens through life. Many of these problems can be addressed quickly and easily through therapy by learning practical, effective solutions, leading to happier and healthier living.

Hi, I'm Adam Pearson, I have a Master's in Clinical Psychology and was trained by a Psychiatrist for 2 years. I use a variety of techniques and tools. Therapy is typically 8-16 weeks, around 8 weeks your symptoms should be going from Severe to Moderate, and 16-18 weeks moderate to mild. I practice from a faith based perspective but all are welcome. You can text, call or email and I usually can see a new patient within 48-72 hours. I had PTSD, Depression, OCD and am now free. Now it's your turn! This is where you learn to love and like yourself, maybe for the first time. I have helped 1000s. This is your flying lesson!

I completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Utah in 2000 and my LCSW in 2002. Since that time, I have worked in various clinical settings from school counseling, residential care, foster-care, outpatient clinics and private practice. My therapeutic style evokes the strength and wisdom already inherent within each individual. My role as a therapist is to guide and inspire clients through an empathetic, straight forward approach to learn coping skills and secure a foundation for truly lasting changes.

Are you stuck? Going through a painful time? Do you need help getting over a huge setback? Do you have health problems or have recently lost a loved one? Is your marriage or significant relationship in trouble? Or perhaps depression, anxiety or other mental disorder has reared its ugly head and you need clarity on how to manage distressing symptoms. For others, trauma and significant loss in the past keeps pulling them into unhealthy patterns in the now.

Therapy can seem scary, it is difficult to share with someone our fears, our imperfections, and what we call our weaknesses. One of my favorite quotes is by Brené Brown, "Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light". I want to provide a safe place where you can talk about the darkness, explore it, and to realize that you are worthy of love and belonging, and to find your light. Change your perceptions and you can change your world.

All of us have periods in our lives when we are in pain and feel vulnerable. At these times, it is helpful to have someone who can be objective, directive and caring. Every stage of life has challenges and I have many years of experience working with the struggles of adolescence thru the senior years. Developing coping mechanisms to manage depression and anxiety for ourselves and others is one of the primary tasks of therapy. Whether you are looking for individual or couples therapy I am here to help. I am happy to speak with you on the phone for a brief consultation.

I believe that within each of us lies a powerful, resilient human spirit that has the capacity to thrive - regardless of one's life circumstances. Hope and healing occur as we learn to embrace our unique gifts, develop self-compassion, increase self awareness and implement coping skills into one's daily life. A person flourishes as they learn to approach life in authentic ways while being true to their identity. I am passionate about my work because I believe that we all have the capacity to excel and find joy in the journey of life.

I have worked in the Mental and Behavioral health field more than 7 years, serving in several settings including, schools, shelters, and medical offices. I have extensive experience working with children and their families to address their mental and behavioral health concerns. I like to joke that the scope of children's needs that I've worked with range from Major Depressive Disorders, to toilet training, and everything in between! I believe that every family is capable of reaching their goals for health and happiness and I am eager to help each family achieve this.

I understand that change is difficult and even scary, but as we approach change with an open mind, vulnerability, and support, we often see the most growth. Through gentle confrontations, effective use of skills, and guidance, I believe all of us can be strong vessels of change and growth. I do not use a “one-size-fits-all” approach and take pride in my ability to work with someone from any walk of life.

You feel stuck in the same patterns of depression, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed. You’ve tried for years to find a way to love yourself, free yourself of challenges such as eating disorders, addiction, or trauma. You desire happiness free from these difficulties, but haven’t been able to pull yourself out. Recovery feels impossible by yourself.

How can I find a therapist in Bountiful?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
