Why meet with me? Good question, glad you asked. I love to understand how people work. Additionally, and probably more pertinently, I have had a long struggle with mental illness. Anxiety, depression, and BPD are illnesses I am well acquainted with and love to help those struggling find healing and movement in their journey. I believe we are more than our illnesses and we can find meaning, purpose, and joy in the life we live. I also believe we can heal and grow in our own post-trauma worlds, to better ourselves and help us achieve the life we want to live. On our own terms, without the sting of extreme pain.

As a therapist some of the most powerful and beautiful conversations I have begin with the phrase, “I have never told anyone this before.” My goal is to provide a safe space for those who are feeling overwhelmed and stuck in their mental health and trauma where these words can be said. I seek to provide a warm and nonjudgmental environment where thoughts and feelings can be processed and where healing from traumatic experiences can happen. I also focus on providing tools that help you progress and move forward outside the therapy room. I enjoy working with teenagers, young adults, and adults.

As a Certified Social Worker, I strive to create a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow. Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and discover new possibilities for healing and change. Before joining Stella Mental Health, I supported individuals and families across behavioral health, corrections, education, and women’s wellness settings. These experiences taught me the importance of compassion, perspective, and humor in healing, which are values I bring to every therapeutic session.

The bravest chapters of our lives often start with a single, quiet decision to begin.
Perhaps you’re here because anxiety whispers doubts you’re tired of hearing—or because old wounds no longer fit the life you want to live. Maybe relationships leave you craving deeper connection, or the weight of “what if” has grown too heavy to carry alone.
Whatever brings you, you don’t need to have all the answers—just the willingness to take one step forward. Here, you’ll find a space where judgment fades, resilience is rekindled, and healing begins with the simple act of showing up as you are.

When a relationship is struggling, it can feel deeply unsettling and lonely. You may love your partner and still feel caught in painful cycles of conflict, distance, or emotional shutdown. Even strong, committed couples can lose their sense of closeness over time. You might be wondering how you got here, or if real change is possible. If your marriage feels fragile, you don’t have to face this alone. With the right support, couples can understand what’s happening beneath the surface and rebuild a secure, lasting connection. I bring decades of experience helping couples navigate these challenges and find renewed closeness and trust.

Sexual Abuse Therapists
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.
Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.
How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.
Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
