I have been working with adults and couples for 40+ years. In my practice, teaching and supervision, I encourage others to become more curious about themselves. For me, therapy is a way of understanding, with you, your present and past experiences, and figuring out, what might make for more pleasure in relationships, greater satisfaction in work and interests, more acceptance of challenges and of our limitations. My style is warm and active. My clients have diverse backgrounds, and orientations. I avoid psychological jargon and giving advice. I give homework to try out changes. An extensive consultation is free.
I ask people to have honest difficult, sometimes painful, conversations with themselves, people who count to them, and me. Sometimes success means taking risks to find better ways of communicating, or dealing with conflicts, sometimes coping with uncertainty or realities that we can't control, sometimes changing situations to feel better about our lives.
I invite questions and being corrected when I say something that doesn't feel right, or you feel misunderstood, or I talk too much, or not enough. I'm likely to ask how you carry your stress in your body. Sometimes I reveal my own biases and feelings. I'm always interested in your reactions to me.

Groups
Senior Support Groups, Thurs 10:30am; 1pm FREE
The aim of these groups is to connect with other seniors and talk about important issues in our lives. It's quite amazing what happens in these weekly sessions. We talk about relationships or lacking them, loneliness, depression or anxiety, family, health, housing, finances, aging, interests, having or not feeling some purpose in life, and how we are coping with COVID times. We talk about generational factors, gender, sexual and cultural factors. Members offer feedback and caring support. We try to minimize unwanted advice giving. Please call me to see if this free group might be good for you.
