I enjoy children/young teens and their parents and work especially well with children experiencing school and home anxieties and behaviors. My 23 years of experience in a school setting have developed my skills with children struggling with social communication disorders correlated with moderate and high functioning autism/developmental disorders.Collaboration with parents around effective limit setting and improved family functioning is also an area of professional strength.
I am most successful with children and teens experiencing anxiety, behavior issues and learning differences. The tools that I have developed help youngsters feel more successful and hopeful. A critical component of my work includes parents in the treatment process and helping them become effective coaches and cheerleaders for their children.
My many years in a school setting as well as a private clinical work in the community have allowed me to appreciate the dynamics of school and home behaviors. I am particularly skilled in helping families bridge these two environments and help their children feel successful in both settings.
