I use Art & Photo Therapy techniques, play therapy and sand tray. Words alone are not enough to express what you feel. All humans remember in the form of images and attach those images to emotional responses. This is especially true when people are faced with the complex issues of grief, violence, abuse, neglect or coping with a disability. That is why Art therapy needs to become an integral part of the treatment. Art therapy gives you a voice to express a wide range of emotions and helps you work through conflicts & traumas. (Any age or issues and NO ART SKILLS NEEDED. )
This can further assist in memory recognition, healing and executive brain function. Specialities include: Relationships, Medical Art Therapy, Cancer, Stroke and Dementia support groups, Lifestyle changes, Bereavement/pre-bereavement, Terminal illness, 1st time placement to Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) or Assisted Living (ALF), Loss of independence and Corporate team building.
Art Therapy is a unique form of art based therapy that allows the client to experience communication with their subconscious thought while using the art work and it's process to find coping mechanisms. No artistic skills are required because it's about the process, not the product.
