As a social worker, I focus not only on what diagnoses someone may have, but also them as a whole person, inclusive of their environment. Sometimes it's easy to blame everything on yourself and it takes an outside perspective to help you to consider and work through what other factors may be contributing to your struggles. I enjoy working through issues surrounding folks with ADHD, ASD, mood disorders, chronic illness/disabilities, trauma, and people who are LGBTQIA+ or involved in fandom. I try to customize therapy as much as possible to the individual since there's no one size fits all approach that works for everyone.
I have a background in clinical research and have worn many hats during my career in terms of clinical roles. I do my best to balance what the literature says with what is practical for clients to implement given their unique situations. I utilize a holistic, intersectional, strengths-based approach, drawing primarily from ACT, DBT, and CBT.
The most important aspect of therapy is the relationship, so if this sounds like a good fit, please feel free to reach out to me to schedule a free, 15-20 minute consult.
