I became a therapist because I believe people are pretty incredible. My heart is in supporting and empowering women in navigating their relationship with themselves, their body and food and the beautiful mess of motherhood. I work with clients from a holistic perspective with a specialty in eating disorders/body image, OCD, perinatal anxiety and depression, traumatic birth, miscarriage/infant loss, overcoming perfectionism and anxiety, and sexual trauma. I practice from an intuitive eating and Health At Every Size-informed foundation and am a certified Perinatal Mental Health clinician (PMH-C).

Bethany is passionate about supporting emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being of all individuals, but especially mothers. She is most passionate about working with pregnant and parenting mothers as they address the dynamic elements of their state of life. Her heart for maternal mental health comes from both personal and professional influences. She is currently pursuing a certification as a Perinatal Mental Health professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI) to be able to more fully support this client population.

I believe that everyone has the power to change his or her own life and make it what he or she wants it to be. Sometimes, we just need a little bit of help and support. Through therapy, we can find the guidance and encouragement to make it through some of life's toughest times. My experience has allowed me the opportunity to work with adults, teens, and children, families, couples, and siblings. I have supported clients through many challenges, including relationship issues, financial problems I have specific training in the area of sexual offending and have worked with offenders, ex-offenders, as well as victims of sexual abuse.

At APC we offer outpatient counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Our clinicians provide individual, couple and family counseling. My passion is working with women in their reproductive years who are pregnant, postpartum, experiencing infertility, birth trauma, pregnancy loss, or are in need of support related to parenting and relationships. My patients are usually coming to therapy in need of a safe outlet to process their relationships, worries, decisions and past traumas. I enjoy walking alongside of my patients and helping them to reach the goals they have in mind when they begin the therapy process. I am trained and pursuing certification in EMDR to help support women who are experiencing trauma, or have past trauma they are looking to heal from.

I am passionate about aiding others in finding hope among the confusion and chaos of everyday life. My desire for you is that we can work together to find that HOPE for you in your situation. In my 10+ years of clinical experience I have found that meeting people where they are at, having a listening ear and teaching some essential skills will help us begin and build momentum in your healing process. I'm passionate about addressing a spectrum of traumas, restoration in broken family dynamics, rebuilding marriages, coming alongside adolescents and targeting the root of the distress you are experiencing. I would provide a safe, nonjudgmental, caring environment in which you could gain the comfort you need to grow in self-awareness and develop positive coping skills. I am trained in the state of MI to provide Clinical Supervision to LLPC's.

Parenthood can be full of wonders and woes. Along the way you could experience infertility, loss, or birth trauma. Sometimes you bypass (or go through) those experiences only to find yourself right smack dab in the middle of postpartum anxiety or depression. I became a therapist to support parents, so they know someone is always in their corner.
