I am passionate about the impact of spirituality in mental health therapy. As an attachment informed humanist LPCC, I consider the bio-psycho-social-spiritual/existential condition of the folks with whom I work. Empathy, acceptance, positive regard, and genuineness are characteristics I seek to cultivate in my practice. CBT and Motivational Interviewing are the primary evidence based methodologies I employ to be with people in their self-paced, goal oriented healing efforts. I summarize my work as helping people deal with being their own person in an ill fitting world. Whether young folks struggling with mental illness or adults recovering from addiction, I help folks form their identity on their terms. I use the tested techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to confront harmful thinking and cultivate healthy alternatives.
