Tyler has worked in the mental health field for over 18 years. Tyler has been a Licensed mental health counselor (CMHC) since 2018. Tyler is in recovery from heroin addiction and has overcome many of his own personal struggles to now help others. Tyler has worked in private practice in St George for the past 8 years working with adults and adolescents dealing with varying degrees of mental health issues. Tyler is passionate about helping clients find their purpose and meaning in life and uses many modalities to help assist with that work. It can be difficult for individuals and families to navigate the challenges with mental health. We specialize in helping individuals, couples and families with mental disorders such as depression, anxiety and trauma. Models used are EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization reprocessing), ART(Accelerated resolution therapy), ACT(Acceptance Commitment), & TF-CBT.

I love using acceptance commitment therapy as it helps client find ways to be in the present moment while recommitting to values. I use accelerated resolution therapy, a trauma therapy that appears to help clients reprocess their trauma and find relief at session end. I also like using motivational interviewing to help clients work through ambivalence.

This is an ongoing, open process group for clients who want to understand themselves better—their personality, identity (“Who am I really?”), and how to work through ambivalence about life choices, relationships, careers, or direction. Format: Online via telehealth (Doxy,Zoom), 90 minutes once weekly. Max occupancy: 10-12 members (rolling admissions—people join and leave as needs evolve). Cost: $40 per session.
