I am eclectic in my counseling style, but favor CBT and psycoeducation. I work with all ages. I believe healing can occur when false beliefs are exchanged for truth. I offer a source of support during those difficult times in life. I am a compassionate and caring therapist. If you are struggling through a situation, why go through it alone?

As a therapist I primarily work with women and teens who are struggling with and walking through anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relational conflict, trauma, depression, over control, and low self esteem.
In life we can experience many ups and downs that present challenges and hardships. Our stories are constantly being influenced by many different factors. I believe that healing and growth can come from healthy and safe relationships. In counseling I seek to provide a space where you can process your pasts, learn to live in the present, and moving closer to the future you desire. As a counselor I seek to walk alongside my client in their journey towards acceptance, understanding, and change in a safe and encouraging environment.

It was a busy day at the office when the call came from your son’s school. It’s become a semi-regular occurrence, but your heart sinks as you lift the receiver to find out what he’s done this time. Another fight, another tantrum, more disruptive behavior. You love your child, but sometimes you picture how much easier life would be if he didn’t have these issues. You know he’s struggling but you don’t know how to help him. You’ve tried reading books, listening to podcasts, talking to teachers and counselors – but it’s no use. Things just keep getting worse. You’re terrified that if something doesn’t change soon, it may be too late.

I offer in person office sessions and telehealth sessions because I know as women we are busy, and convenience is a priority.
Specializing in Women’s Mental Health (Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Infertility, Mom Guilt, Perfectionism, Post Divorce, Perinatal Mental Health, Compassion Fatigue, Imposter Syndrome.) Taking care of ourselves as women can be hard. We take care of others, but we neglect to take time for ourselves. The problem with this is that if we don’t take time to care for ourselves, we lose our ability to care for anyone else. We suffer, and then those around us suffer as well. How is what you are dealing with affecting you, your children, your relationships, your work? How will it continue to affect you if you don’t seek help?

I have experience working with teens, women, men, and couples including premarital.
We all experience challenges in life that may come in the form of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and endless others. At times, these challenges may begin to feel too difficult to navigate on our own. Sometimes we need someone just to listen. Sometimes we need encouragement and support. Sometimes we need new tools or help with different ways of thinking. Sometimes we even need to be challenged. All these things can happen in the safe space of our counseling relationship.

Challenges, conflict and change are inevitable. Many of our thoughts, choices, behaviors and patterns develop as an adaptive response to our personal experiences and adversities. However, sometimes these same thoughts, behaviors and patterns stop working for us and become maladaptive. We feel "stuck." They become a great source of distress for us and for those around us. My goal is to provide a safe, warm, supportive environment for individuals to explore and gain insight into their thoughts, behaviors and patterns, reassess their usefulness and explore and establish healthier, more effective alternatives.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
