Female Therapists in Williamson County, TX

I wear a lot of hats in life- I'm a bonus mom, partner, daughter, friend, colleague, woman. I'm a human. I know what it's like to feel shame, anger, sadness, fear, and pain. I also know happiness, love, safety, gratitude, and hope. I've had a lot of experiences- some beautiful, some not. I share this because it's important to know that while I've not been in your shoes, I've walked in shoes of my own. I know that we are all just doing the best we can at the time. My goal is facilitate a safe environment where people can explore who they are and where they've been, gain insight, and learn skills to live a happier and healthier life.

My specialties have been in working with child survivors of abuse and crime, unhoused women and children, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and those challenged by substance use.
We often walk through life having experienced deeply painful, traumatic, and heartbreaking situations that leave us with a sense of not knowing who we are anymore. Sometimes we carry those burdens an entire lifetime, somehow believing that we are “too much” or “not enough”, and that we have no safe space to share and unravel our stories. I’m here to remind you that your past and your experiences are not who you ARE. You are not “wrong”, broken, or wounded beyond repair. I'm here to be a fiercely loving space-holder for your unique wisdom to reveal itself and to remind you that you have an immense capacity to heal and transform.

Your partner is arguing with you about a fight from last week. He’s raising his voice, but all you hear is a voice in your head saying, “How did we get here?” You once shared a deep sense of connection and understanding and now barely make it through the week without bickering. It breaks your heart. The spark between you is gone, and the only time you’re fired up is while blaming one another. It’s devastating to feel the dreams you shared slipping away from you. You’re lonely, misunderstood, and there is a chasm in your bed that’s impossible to cross. You miss the intimacy and love you used to have. You miss your partner's love.

Do you ever feel stuck, like you can't get yourself out of feeling like you're in a constant rut? As a therapist, I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, perfectionism, and OCD. Many of them feel overwhelmed by negative thoughts and repetitive behaviors, which keep them from feeling at peace or fully in control of their lives. Through hypnosis, I help clients access their subconscious to release unhelpful thought patterns and create healthier, more empowering habits. This approach allows them to manage their anxiety, overcome perfectionism, and reduce obsessive behaviors, ultimately leading to a more balanced life.

You’re exhausted by trying to fit into everyone’s expectations of you. What if you could feel more connected to your true self? You may be fed up with pretzeling yourself into the narrow boxes of values that are not your own, feeling disconnected from your true self or isolated from those around you. You might not even remember a time when things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to feel peaceful and grounded. You’re ready to feel more connected and satisfied in your relationships. Most of all, you’re ready to love yourself and face your future with passion and purpose.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
