I am currently licensed in Texas and Connecticut. I help women navigating the complexities of family issues, specifically around grief and loss, estrangement, divorce. These challenges can cause identity crises, financial issues, increased stress, strained family relationships, which can show up in several ways. It can become easy to isolate yourself, have difficulty concentrating at work or school, increase guilt and self blame, or anxiety. My clients tend to want to understand what's happening, but also want to know there is a way out...which there always is!

The thoughts we hold and the beliefs we adopt about ourselves and the world significantly influence our daily lives. Challenging negative thought patterns and dismantling deeply ingrained beliefs shaped by life experiences or trauma can be a complex and demanding process.

I view therapy as a place for thoughtful examination and intentional change. Many of the individuals I work with are capable, high-functioning adults—often men—who appear steady on the outside but feel restless, overextended, or misaligned internally. They are not looking for someone to simply agree with them. They want clarity. Direction. A deeper understanding of who they are becoming and how they are showing up in their lives.

Youth pastor and teacher for Churches in the Waco area for 5 years.
Have you discovered that you are lacking in motivation? Confused or completely lost when it comes to your own personal purpose in life? The number one symptom I have noticed in the past few years is that people lack motivation and purpose. That might be because of trauma, grief, personal issues, or any number of events and relationships. The goal of therapy with my clients is to increase awareness, renew motivation, and rediscover purpose that aims at a better, more authentic future.

I work with children as young as 4, as well as teens, adults, and families.
I believe that our thoughts have so much power over who we are and where we are in life, and changing a person’s thoughts can empower and promote an individual in all aspects of life. Two of my strengths are empathy and being an encourager, which helps me to connect to others. I am an EMDR Certified therapist and would like to work with those experiencing trauma of all ages. I have a special place in my heart for those suffering from grief, loss, and chronic disease. I was a Medical Assistant who worked with Oncology patients and saw the need for that population and their families to get counseling.

Are relationship dynamics, family tension, or the patterns you keep repeating leaving you feeling stuck and disconnected from who you truly are? Whether the struggle is personal, between partners, or felt across the whole family, it rarely exists in isolation — and neither should the solution. You don't have to untangle it alone, and you don't have to choose between getting help as an individual or getting help together. In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in couples and family therapy, helping you gain deeper insight into your patterns and become more of who you truly are.

Sometimes life robs us of our light. It can happen gradually or suddenly. We might not even know why the light is gone, only that it’s not there anymore. My goal is to enable you to search for and take hold of that light. I work primarily with depression and anxiety as well as spirituality, processing trauma, and family dynamics. I focus on young adults transitioning into new life stages, and adults of all ages who feel stuck in life and unable to access their meaning. Trauma in life can prevent us from finding meaning, keeping us from relating to ourselves or others fully.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
