My training in NARM has given me a beautiful modality for addressing the complex trauma that so often underlies anxiety, depression, eating issues, self-harm, and substance abuse.
Do you ever feel like your actions don't make sense, and you don't know why you end up doing what you do and feeling how you feel? Like maybe YOU don't make sense? I have been there too, and I believe there are reasons behind what we believe and how we act. My intention as a therapist is to help clients develop insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, as well as to provide a safe space to feel whatever stirs inside of them. By paying attention to all of our experiences, we can learn more about our inner processes, begin to disentangle those processes from self-judgment, and find meaning in our struggles and triumphs.

In our work together, you’ll experience a trauma-informed approach in a nonjudgmental space where your past is honored and met with compassion.
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck and repeating the same patterns, avoiding difficult emotions, disconnecting from themselves or others, or simply feeling like they’re not living as fully as they want to. My approach is both warm and direct. I help you face what you’ve been avoiding, not with pressure, but with curiosity, compassion, and grounded support. I work through a Gestalt, experiential lens, which means we focus on what’s happening right now — in your body, emotions, thoughts, and relationships. I specialize in helping clients who struggle with avoidance, anxiety, emotional disconnection, and self-criticism.

I work with individuals who seek to truly understand themselves and what drives their behaviors. Exploring one’s inner world with curiosity and compassion makes up an important first step to healing. When an individual’s inner and outer selves are aligned and unacknowledged pain is surfaced, one is freed up to heal and live more fully and honestly. You may have a sense that bits and pieces of yourself have been suppressed or dismissed along the way. My approach to therapy will help you retrieve and re-integrate these important parts of yourself so that you can feel whole and fulfilled.

I work with individuals and couples/intimate partnerships that need help navigating trauma/ PTSD, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ issues with a special interest in ADHD, neurodiverse couples, and individuals/couples navigating complex trauma.
I utilize a blend of interpersonal neurobiology, EMDR, narrative, and IFS approaches to help my clients understand their story and the ways they have power to change it. I embrace a systemic and non-pathologizing approach to therapy; too often rational responses to stress and harm are stigmatized, and I make it a point to break that cycle.

Do you often feel overwhelmed, scattered, or like you’re constantly fighting an uphill battle to keep up with daily life? Maybe you’ve struggled to set and achieve goals, manage your time, or stay organized, and you’re tired of hearing that you’re just “lazy” or “unmotivated.” Living with ADHD can feel isolating and frustrating, but it doesn’t have to define your story. In my practice, we focus on more than just the challenges of ADHD. Together, we’ll identify your strengths, break down barriers, and help you build the life you want. Through education and support, you can move from feeling powerless to feeling empowered and capable.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
