Often, when we experience abuse, trauma, or hardship we learn the best way to protect ourselves is to put on a mask, hide, pretend or please others. We find safety in these coping mechanisms and after a while we lose sight of who we really are. But that real person is still there waiting for the day you're ready to do more than survive. This is where I come in. My calling is to aid those who are scared to be seen find the freedom to fully know, understand and reclaim who they truly are, as well as, build fully authentic and connected relationships with others.

I have worked in private practice as a psychologist for over thirty years. Most of my clients find my “explore-in-the-moment” approach refreshing and transformational. By distinguishing old coping patterns from new experience and encouraging clients to explore rather than explain themselves, personal development naturally unfolds. This approach offers clients the opportunity to explore at the edge of the unknown and beyond the world they know. The unknown is the source of all change and the known is the past.

You may be someone who shows up, gets things done, and holds a lot together — yet still feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or quietly worn down. Maybe you’ve learned to push through, stay productive, or take care of others, and you’re beginning to notice the cost of living this way. Many struggle with anxiety, emotional shutdown, or the lingering effects of past experiences, and are looking for more. I work with adults and teens who seem “fine” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or burned out inside. Many manage anxiety, stress, or past experiences and are looking for therapy that feels supportive, holistic, and deeply human.

I will demonstrate a full and accepting understanding of your difficulties, and I will listen keenly and show complete respect. I work to make sessions time-effective, frequent when needed and intermittent when feasible. We'll collaborate toward pragmatic solutions, and work toward your goals, not mine. I will challenge you and exert "gentle" pressure at times. I check regularly on how you feel about the therapy process and our working relationship. The quality of our working relationship is fundamental. We expect problems to arise at times, and we take care of them right away.
