I work with individuals in all phases of addiction recovery, including dual diagnosis. My passion is helping individuals regain the confidence and trust that was lost due to a myriad of core issues that contribute to addiction. I believes that addiction is a family system disease and I will help significant family members navigate and understand the nature of their loved one's struggle. I also work closely with the LGBTQ community, especially individuals and their partners struggling with gender identity challenges. And I have extensive experience with
grief
and
loss

You're struggling with parts of your life right now and aren't sure what to do. Perhaps it's your relationships that are struggling; you may be in the middle of a life change or transition; you may be grieving. There may be other factors in your life which are creating problems. Perhaps you're struggling with addictive behavior; your past is affecting your present; a trauma may be clouding your life. You feel like you don't matter, that you aren't worthy of love. Nobody is listening and you can't figure out how to be heard.

Grief
is interwoven into some of the most beautiful parts of life. I believe in the human capacity for resilience & work collaboratively with clients on successfully living with and growing from the effects of stress, illness,
loss
, & trauma. Sometimes having more tools & skills to better manage daily life are what’s required, and other times deeper self healing work can allow for heavy burdens and old beliefs to transform, alchemizing experiences into integrated gifts. You have the right to enjoy a more satisfying life of creativity & fulfillment, embodying the amazing human you were created to be.

Where there is
grief
there can be peace, and where there is emptiness, you can find purpose.
Are you living with a constant feeling of being unfulfilled? Questioning what's wrong and what to do about it? Are you feeling stuck with no clear path forward? Perhaps you've been experiencing a desire for something that you struggle to identify. With a restless mind and sleepless nights you can't seem to find much joy in any given day. Maybe, you're attempting to fill your life with anything to break through the emptiness of life. The start of the journey towards healing, for some, can leave you feeling utterly overwhelmed and uncertain how to start. For others, you're needing someone to join you on a journey that's already begun.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
