As a therapist my approach is person centered and focuses on the immediate needs of the client. My focus is to work collaboratively and alongside with you to help navigate and gain a better understanding of your emotions, past experiences, and most critical concerns. Our emotions can be strong and difficult to manage, in session we can focus on providing you the ability to practice emotion regulation, relaxation, mindfulness, and coping techniques.

My practice is primarily with adults, adolescents and families, who are struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, past trauma and life challenges. Life at times can be hard, and relationships take a lot of work. My mission is to empower my clients to find their inner strengths to lead a happier, more fulfilled life. I provide a relaxed, comfortable environment for my clients to share those things in life they would like to change. I am trained to offer you EMDR Therapy® for PTSD. I use a directive counseling approach, providing homework and guidance, with a multimodal approach to therapy.

My approach to therapy is heavily based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but I do included techniques from TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention), Solution-focused, and Person-centered as well. In each session, I like to use my knowledge of each therapeutic technique to fit each client the best and work towards the goals they seek to complete.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and Chemical Dependency Counselor with six years of experience. I spent more than ten years working with veterans and their families, coping with deployment, PTSD, and family disruption throughout their military careers. I utilize a wide range of modalities such as Client-Centered Therapy, Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems, Family Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. I firmly believe that people are people regardless of their chosen labels or the ones society puts on them.

I use an experiential model of therapy that encourages clients to examine their past experiences that have shaped their beliefs about the world. I believe the deepest changes in our life happen when we utilize social support and self-compassion. My ultimate goal is to give each client an opportunity to experience this in session.
