As an EMDR-trained and trauma-focused therapist, you can expect to work together to help you get to the root of the issue and not dismissively put a bandaid on a wounded heart.
Hello there, I'm Katie. I love working with clients who have experienced grief and trauma, as well as other mental health challenges. You may feel stuck in memories and/or feelings that seem overwhelming and unbearable at times. You may see yourself and the world through eyes of pain causing you to feel miserable and jaded. My goal as your therapist is to start by helping you expand your window of tolerance, learn to regulate your emotions, learn relational and attachment patterns, and reconnect your mind with your body so that you can live life on your terms and not be controlled by your past experiences.

My training and experience give me a broad perspective to draw from during treatment, enabling me to use a variety of therapeutic tools, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR), Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) and Therapeutic Play.
As a therapist, I get excited about the opportunity for change in a person’s life. I take a holistic approach, considering the many factors that affect a client’s mental and emotional state, not just the presenting problem. My goal is to connect with a person in such a way that allows me to understand the influences - family, friends, environment and medication - that contribute to their specific situation. My background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified teacher and school counselor, as well as working for 16+ years with at-risk individuals, from four years to adult, allows me to treat a wide range of clients.

As a woman therapist, I bring cultural awareness, lived understanding, and advocacy into the therapy space. Many of my clients are women who carry a lot—emotionally, relationally, and socially. They often wear many hats, feel unseen or misunderstood, and are navigating stressors that others may minimize. I am intentional about creating a space where clients feel seen, validated, and not alone. I value culturally responsive and contemporary psychological frameworks and don't rely on outdated models of care. My work prioritizes relevance, emotional safety, and real-life application.

I provide trauma-informed counseling using EMDR, mindfulness-based approaches, and parts work (IFS) to help adults heal from trauma, anxiety, grief, and relationship difficulties.
You've worked hard to improve your life and your relationships. So why do you still find yourself stuck in the same painful patterns? My clients are often thoughtful, insightful adults who struggle with anxiety, trauma, grief, emotional exhaustion, relationship challenges, or the lingering effects of difficult experiences that continue to influence the present. Together, we make sense of the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and relationships so change feels less like forcing yourself to be different and more like understanding yourself in a whole new way.

I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches (CBT, DBT, EMDR) to meet your needs, helping you build insight, and strengthen coping skills.
At times, life can feel like SO much. Whether you’re dealing with stress, relationship struggles, identity questions, or feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. I strive to create a space where you can show up as your full, authentic self - without judgment or pressure. I believe therapy should reflect you, which is why I tailor my approach to your unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. Whether you’re looking for support, clarity, or growth, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Healing isn’t about changing who you are - it’s about reconnecting with yourself.

I am certified in EMDR and ART (like EMDR on steroids) along with other modalities like DBT, IFS and more.
I'm Lexi Eller, LCSW-S, a therapist that loves to see people thrive in their own skin after feeling overwhelmed, unlike themselves and help with the healing process. I have a heart for helping first responders and veterans who have served our community when they seem to be disregarded by the world. The dark realities of the day to day can compound and if not handled with care and intention, can fester and have an ripple effect in your life in all facets. Along with those who have been impacted by sexual assault, domestic violence and other traumas.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing ( EMDR) trained and through EMDRIA at the EMDR Training Center in Austin, Texas, completion date November 2025.
Human suffering often stems from relationships—whether through betrayal, neglect, or emotional trauma—leaving lasting psychological scars. Yet, within these same relationships lies the power to heal. Contemporary psychology highlights how secure, supportive connections can reshape neural pathways, build resilience, and restore emotional health. Through cultivating trust and openness, individuals can reclaim their narratives, transforming pain into personal growth. I am deeply committed to offering compassionate, transformative support that empowers individuals to navigate adversity and cultivate emotional well-being.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Sand Tray, Solution-Focused, IFS, and EMDR.
It takes courage to take the first step and reach out for help. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space where you are able to share your story. Maybe you are dealing with relationship concerns, like a change in your family situation. Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. Maybe you are trying to overcome an experience, trauma, or struggles with family, life transitions, friends, or school. My goal is for you to feel honored, valued, and heard. All of these topics can be tough, but talking with someone can help. I would be honored to help you with any of your worries or concerns. I accept insurance.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
