I have a special interest in helping clients who are experiencing anxiety, excessive worry, OCD and phobias.
I put a great deal of time and effort pursuing education and training in the field of anxiety disorders in order to provide my clients with the best standards of care. I believe with a strong therapeutic relationship and use of evidence based therapy clients can actively work towards challenging old patterns of thinking and find relief and confidence.

Finding the right therapist isn’t always easy, especially during the holidays, when stress, expectations, and old emotions tend to surface. My goal is to offer a judgment-free space grounded in trust, vulnerability, and mutual respect. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts, weighed down by doubt, or struggling in relationships, you’re not alone. My approach is outcome-driven and rooted in compassion and curiosity. I currently support clients throughout Texas and Florida.

My goals in therapy center around two ideas: helping you feel better and helping you get better. Life gets complicated for all of us (either throughout our lives or during parts of our lives). Sometimes we just need someone else to help guide us through it and teach us a new way to approaching our difficulties. One part involves helping you gain confidence that you can have control of your life, & the other involves challenging your beliefs and world views that keep you from living life to the fullest. Helping you feel better involves compassionate listening and understanding your concerns through your worldview.

Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported. I help kids and teens navigate big feelings, life transitions, and strengthen their social-emotional skills in a warm, developmentally appropriate space. My approach is supportive and relational, helping young clients grow both in and outside of sessions. My guiding motto is for kids and teens to feel seen, understood, appreciated, loved, enough, empowered, and encouraged—because every child deserves to feel truly valued. If your child is struggling or simply needs extra support, you’re not alone. I’d be honored to walk alongside your family on this journey.

Anxiety can be an encompassing experience, affecting not just your thoughts and emotions, but your physical well-being too. It often creates a pervasive sense of unease that can make day-to-day life feel more challenging. You’ll often feel out of control, simply reacting to the troubles around you. But you don’t have to live like this forever.

To say "things aren't always easy" is often an understatement. Sometimes things are more than hard, and may have been piling up for a while. Whether you're battling depression, anxiety, grief, or changes in life, I'm here to help. I've worked with children, teens and adults in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, where they work to sort out their struggles. I have seen the damage trauma can do to relationships, but have also seen the power in connecting with others.

It takes significant strength to start looking for a counselor! I applaud starting the process... don't stop now. Reach out. I know that counseling can be uncomfortable and counselors are often awkward people (sorry). At Alethia, we prioritize counselors who can help you feel at home - people you would enjoy getting coffee with, much less talk about the hard things in life. Our front desk team will pair you with the right counselor for you!

Do you ever feel stuck in the same painful cycles—whether it’s the grip of anxiety, addictions, trauma, or the constant pressure to be perfect? Maybe you’re in a relationship that leaves you second-guessing yourself, or you notice patterns that keep you feeling disconnected from the people you love. Deep down, you know life doesn’t have to feel this way—you want freedom, peace, and a healthier way forward. You want to get to the root of why you feel and respond the way you do and feel like you have more control over your life. You believe there is something better for you, you just need help getting there.

How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
