Have you, or if you are a parent, your child, experienced a medical trauma? It can feel scary, isolating, hopeless, and stigmatizing. Are you feeling anxious? Lonely? Depressed? Is your child suddenly changing their behavior, having emotional outbursts, trouble in school, to the point where you feel like you've tried everything, but nothing has helped? I am passionate about helping individuals navigate these experiences so that they can move forward with confidence and hope with the tools they need to break out of these cycles and find their own healing and wholeness.

In the heart of every therapeutic journey lies the transformative power of genuine human connection. As a dedicated therapist, I believe that healing begins when individuals are seen, heard, and understood within the context of a trusting and compassionate relationship. I now have multiple years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and couples who struggle with PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and addictions. One of the greatest privileges of this work has been witnessing the reconnection that occurs while working with couples who are navigating difficult periods in their relationship.

This means I have worked with individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, difficulty adjusting, and relationship issues.
The life transition into becoming a parent is often not quite what we expected. Sometimes that means a struggle in the beginning, such as infertility, infant loss, traumatic birth, NICU trauma, post-partum anxiety/depression. Sometimes the struggle is when the baby comes home. Then they get even older and have different needs and you are not sure how to connect with them. It often takes a toll on your relationships, with your child or partner or extended family. You are just trying to be the best parent you can, while dealing with all that life has/is throwing at you. You are often doing this with little to no emotional support.

I am trained in traditional therapy types including: CBT, family systems, person-centered therapy, and in TF-CBT ( trauma focused CBT) working with children and teens who have experienced trauma.
I became a counselor to provide a safe space for people to be themselves. I’m no different from the clients I see. I've been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help. I have seen the effect a compassionate listener can have on a person. As a counselor I want to help you let go of the things that have been holding you back. Being a therapist is inspiring. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and watching them transform their lives. I am committed to encouraging you to see healing and transformation are possible, and to be excited about your life again.

Therapy is often a difficult and personal journey. People turn to therapy for a variety of reasons. Some people wish to gain insight into themselves, to repair and improve relationships with others, improve coping and communication skills or to resolve grief and trauma. Whatever the reason for seeking therapy, the goal is to improve one's functionality and overall happiness. I believe in helping people to learn new skills, enhance their existing skills and work through difficult emotions as they strive to reach their goals. We, at Reflections in Therapy, are ready to walk with you on your journey.

Does it seem like emotions are taking over your life – anxiety, hurt, anger, sadness? Are you struggling with grief, trauma, or life transitions? Are you noticing relationships are becoming more difficult and problems are surfacing at home, work, or school? Are you turning to coping tools that may help in the moment, but are starting to make things worse overall - drug use, unhealthy relationships, isolation, or other behaviors? Are you losing sight of yourself, the person you want to be, and the strengths you have? If you identify with any of these questions, know you are not alone.

The program at this Symetria clinic goes beyond traditional therapy to treat everything hiding behind the drugs or alcohol - all while still living at home! Treatment here helps you rebalance your brain, create healthy thought patterns and heal underlying issues (like trauma, anxiety, depression or family conflict).
Don't settle for a generic drug and alcohol therapist. You deserve help that actually helps you feel happy again. (And, that's in-network with your insurance).
