Arguments with your
partner
are becoming more and more frequent. The honeymoon phase is long gone. And let's face it, your sex life has been mediocre at best. Even the thought of intimacy leads to anxiety and frustration. You find yourself questioning, "Is there something wrong with me?" ... "I should enjoy sex more." ... "I won't be able to please my
partner
". Physical intimacy has become a trigger for you, and avoidance has only added to the disconnect between you and your
partner
. The enthusiasm and luster for sex has faded.

Reach out! You will be reaching out to a therapist who can relate and who has experience working with youth, young adults, individuals,
couples
, and families.
Does it seem like emotions are taking over your life – anxiety, hurt, anger, sadness? Are you struggling with grief, trauma, or other life transitions? Are you noticing relationships are becoming more difficult and problems are surfacing at home, work, or school? Are you turning to coping tools that may help in the moment, but are starting to make things worse overall - drug use, unhealthy relationships, isolation, or other behaviors? Are you losing sight of yourself, the person you want to be, and the strengths you have? If you identify with any of these questions, know you are not alone.

I hope to utilize my skills and provide an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard to build a trusting
relationship
which enables clients to push through difficulties and navigate the uncomfortable space where transformation takes place.
I enjoy working with young people and adults as they move along their paths of self-discovery and become the best version of themselves. Throughout the life journey, challenges are presented which offer each us to opportunity to grow. In the process of growth, we contend with uncertainty and often experience discomfort. A variety of therapeutic tools such as eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and action methods can be utilized in order that adults and adolescents, can be supported as they navigate the unknown paths related to past events, current challenges and future desires.

We work with adults,
couples
and adolescents.
We use a variety of techniques that are tailored to meet the needs of our clients with a special interest in self esteem/self worth issues, codependency, NPD & unconscious programming. Some individuals are unaware of limiting thoughts, beliefs & memories and stay stuck. Trapped trauma and unconscious programming plays a major role in mental & physical health problems as well as interpersonal relationships. In addition to psychotherapy we offer a unique & transformational experience called Zerobody Dry Flotation to aid and accelerate the healing process and to re program unconscious programming (one's blueprint of self and life).

Are you a young to middle aged adult that gives and caters to others yet feels lost from your own life’s purpose? Do you set meaningful goals but stay stuck in procrastination? Does high anxiety drive self-sabotaging behaviors of over eating, drinking, and screen time? You love the people in your life yet feel unseen or find yourself in a toxic
relationship
you keep hoping will change. Experiences in our past such as childhood neglect, shaming, bullying, a divorced or conflict in the home, loss of a loved one or other adverse events have a lasting negative impact on our lives today.

Two words: life happens! Therapy helps us live more purposeful, self-aware lives. There is nothing sweeter, to me, than healing trauma and breaking chains. Trauma seeps through many aspects of our lives, and if we're not careful, can drastically alter our response to the world around us. It is important to move toward existing in the world the way we choose to exist, not what's projected onto us. Also, life happens in the context of relationships; therefore,
couples
therapy sets my soul ablaze.
Couples
seeking to grow or overcome obstacles is incredibly intimate work. I am honored to walk alongside and help heal your covenant.

The challenges that find you researching therapists are to be embraced. Those challenges are sending you a powerful message that something about your life, your relationships or your child's behavior is no longer working. Change is already taking place within you, and HOPE is awakening. My clients tend to be high achieving women and children ages 5 to 10 with anxiety. I often work with healthcare and mental health professionals. Clients who come to me have a desire to improve their relationships, heal from burn out, to practice healthy boundaries, and to work through family of origin and/or attachment issues.

Many psychological problems are tied to
relationship
struggles - sex and money are two of the biggest struggles implicated in these cases either as cause, consequence, or something in between. These struggles are emotionally moving manifestations of the human need for connection and the deep pain felt when this connection is damaged or severed. I help individuals and
couples
seek
relationship
-deepening events, become more fluent in the language of others, and understand that satisfying relationships are contingent on the ability to relate to the people you value in your life.

I have been providing therapeutic services since 2007, and as a wife, mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, counselor and student, I understand the many hats a person wears to manage life. I understand the challenges that occur when you attempt to balance your life as things are falling apart. I am always humbled when clients entrust me to join them on their journey to healing, and I never take that trust for granted. I believe a professional partnership between a therapist and a client should be treated with empathy and integrity. I strive to be a good steward of that partnership.

I have been working with adolescents, children, adults via individual, family, and
couples
for 15 years who deal with mental health and/or substance use issues.
Dealing with life's daily issues and maladaptive behaviors can be a challenge. Achieving balance with self, family, and life's challenges are difficult when personal and emotional needs are "out of sorts." However, it is possible to live a fulfilling and joy filled life even if you have been struggling with mental health and stressful issues. Counseling can provide the outlet needed to talk or discover issues and concerns causing conflict/dilemas for you and/or family members. Let's begin the journey to deal with the issues now. It can be a challenge but you can do it! You can live a positive quality of life.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
