You’ve spent so much of your life being dependable, accomplished, and “the strong one.” On the outside, people admire how much you can juggle. But what they don’t see is how exhausted you feel, how hard it is to slow down, and how lonely it can be when no one realizes how much you’re carrying. Maybe you’re a young professional navigating career pressure, an entrepreneur whose drive leaves no room for rest, or a woman who’s always been the caretaker for everyone else. You’ve built a life that looks impressive. But inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or burned out.

I also frequently work with clients navigating perfectionism, burnout, low self-worth, and people-pleasing patterns.
Life doesn’t always go as planned. You might feel stuck—caught in patterns you don’t know how to change, second-guessing yourself, or carrying a heaviness that’s hard to explain. Maybe you’ve spent years focusing on others’ needs, only to realize you’ve lost touch with your own. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin to shift patterns that no longer serve you.

You’ve outgrown the life you built—now what? The version of you who could keep everyone else steady is running on empty. The old roles, relationships, and ways of coping don’t fit, but the next chapter hasn’t revealed itself yet. You’re not in crisis—you’re in transition. This work is about that in-between space: the unraveling, the questions, the quiet pull toward something more real. Together we’ll listen for what’s ready to emerge and help it take shape—steadily, honestly, in your own rhythm.

Hi I'm Angela and I specialize in working with women, introverts and people of color struggling with anxiety and self-esteem issues.
You want to appear more outgoing, productive and like you are “on top of things” but deep down you are struggling to cope with feeling overwhelmed and insecure. You're someone who enjoys your alone time but still finds yourself wanting to feel included. You want to feel less exhausted and find that too many things going on at once can leave you feeling frazzled. You also struggle with overanalyzing a past conversation you had, and feel self-critical. You're ready to start feeling some relief, hope, and peace again. Most of all you are ready to feel less anxious and insecure. I want to help you get there!

You're the type of person who replays every decision, spirals after small moments, or worries you’re falling behind. On the surface, it looks like you're holding it all together, but inside, it’s exhausting. You're constantly comparing yourself to others, second-guessing, and feeling pressure to get it right. You’ve worked hard to keep up, yet it never feels like enough. What if you could quiet the overthinking and finally feel sure of yourself? Therapy can help you feel calmer in your choices, confident in your direction, and grounded in who you are, even when life feels uncertain.

We turn to counseling when our problems with our partners/family have us feeling misunderstood and helpless, or when we’ve lost a sense of who we are and our desires, or feel out of control. These struggles, among many others, in combination with daily responsibilities and challenges can feel extremely overwhelming and hinder our ability to thrive. As a therapist, my intention is to provide an authentically safe and holistic therapeutic space that promotes healing, exploration, and growth.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
