You might be anxious, dreading each day, stuck, and angry carrying pain and trauma and really wanting to find a way to be free of memories, shame, and panic attacks so you can live your best life. You might question how others seem to get life “right” because their social media posts don't look anything like how you feel. Relationships are suffering, and you don't want to pass these feelings on to those you love. You want to be free, confident, happy, and at peace with who you are as a person and the future that is yours yet to live.

I am not your typical "one-size-fits-all" therapist. Like you, I am unique. Respect and understanding of the individual and his/her needs are necessary to reach a successful treatment outcome. My work as a psychotherapist is to find what works for you. I build on the strengths of the individual. I provide personalized therapy to discerning clients who want the ultimate therapist-patient relationship, to include convenience, privacy, and real-time support . . . tailored to their lifestyle. Other benefits of this "concierge" approach: increased availability, priority appointments, and after-hours access.

Body Aches? Migraines? Tired? Stressed? Restless? The mind body connection manifests when we are dysregulated. We all experience interruptions and barriers - separation, loss, trauma, life transitions, to name a few. Let me help you find more peace in your life by exploring life's challenges. I specialize in ETT, a therapy that treats the body mind connection. Creating connection or rebuilding a lost connection is fundamental before we can move on, learn, teach, or heal. Trust, compassion, respect, and non-judgement are the cornerstones of my counseling approach as talking about feelings can be tough.

Developing skills to cope will also be beneficial in your journey. Just sign up thru the Headway link, or reach out to set up your first appointment. See you soon!

There is a way passed what you're going through. Maybe you've asked your friends and family and you're not getting anywhere. Maybe you haven't talked to anyone about it at all. You're not broken, you're not too much, and your absolutely worth the work you can do in therapy. Sometimes you know something is wrong but don't know what or where to begin. Sometimes you know exactly where to begin but are not convinced there is a solution. If your reading this, something in you is ready to try, so let's talk.

Are you watching your teen struggle with worries that don’t seem to turn off, rituals that are exhausting, or fears that feel bigger than the situation? You might feel confused about how to help them. Many parents I meet are doing their best while still wondering, “Am I missing something?” "Are we doing enough… or too much?" or “Will this always be this hard?” If any of these questions sound familiar, you’re not failing your child. You’re responding to something that’s genuinely hard, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Trauma through abuse, loss, and combat can have profound effects on the human psyche and spirit. There is no reason to carry the solid block of ice that a traumatic memory can become if we allow it. I have been in practice for over 33 years with solid experience in working with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, work, marital and relationship conflict. I specialize in issues of trauma, abuse, and grief and loss. There is always a healthier way to cope with daily life problems; the answer is always within.

Are you and your partner stuck in the same arguments, feeling disconnected, or walking on eggshells around each other? Do small issues quickly escalate, leaving both of you feeling hurt, misunderstood, shut down, or emotionally distant? Many couples want closeness, safety, and connection but do not know how to break painful patterns that keep repeating. If this sounds familiar, couples therapy can help. You do not have to keep having the same painful conversations with no resolution. Together, we can understand what is happening beneath the surface and work toward a healthier, connected relationship. Healing and repair are possible.

Empathy, trust, shared presence. My belief is the process of therapy helps bring self-awareness to the strengths that one may not realize they have. Being human, we all face challenges and obstacles, but with non-judgmental support and understanding, inner strengths may flourish to face life's stressors in healthier, productive ways.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
