I have specialized training and experience working with partners of sex addicts, using the MultiDimensional Partner Trauma Model developed by APSATS.
I believe a solid counseling relationship must grow out of authentic connection. I will laugh with you, I will cry with you, and most importantly, I will listen. I am inspired by each of my clients; I consider our time together to be a sacred space. As my client, I believe you have the strength within to make positive and constructive choices. I also know it takes courage to seek counseling. We will work collaboratively to develop goals for our time together. This is your time, your safe space to process difficult feelings, explore conflicting thoughts, and find new meaning.

In my quest for healing I have studied the effects of trauma on our lives and how to alleviate it.
After 30 years of practice I still love what I do. My work is personal--only I answer calls, make appointments, greet you at the door. I want to know who you are, how I can help, what we can accomplish together. My response to you is always original and addresses your unique pain. I am trained in several theoretical models and I use them to guide my practice, but your personal struggle is the focus of our work together. You can come alone or with your partner, child, or family.

Now Accepting Clients 13 years and older. No matter what you do, nothing has worked thus far. You still get frustrated by the same people and situations, and your relationships suffer as a result. You might even engage in self-sabotaging behaviors, and juggling all of it feels impossible. You know your parenting could be better, and you are not sure how or why you react in the ways you do. You may ask yourself “Why am I this way?” The answer often lies in early trauma . A chaotic upbringing, abuse, and not feeling seen as children can often result in emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that do not reflect our true selves.

My main expertise is working with anxiety, depression, PTSD , trauma , abuse, neglect and grief.
Are you feeling stuck and unsure of where to turn next? Life can be difficult to navigate through its ups and downs. Many times individuals are simply lacking specific tools to be able to navigate through the turbulence. Sometimes life has been so overwhelming for so long that it seems impossible to even begin. At any of these points in your journey, it helps to know that you aren't alone and that many have traveled similar paths before you.

I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with trauma , anxiety, depression and lack of motivation.
We live in a society that has made vulnerability seen as weakness, ironically, it is what allows us to be human and make connections. Do you feel a struggle in making connections? Do you struggle with overwhelming feelings of pain, anger, anxiety or depression, and feel like these are what define you? Do you feel like no one will ever understand, like you are detached from the world? Have you been through a traumatic experience, that robs you of freedom? Is motivation the issue, are you fatigued from attempts at change, but never having a guiding light?

Have you been going to therapy for years, yet find yourself still struggling? Perhaps you're highly emotional, angry, anxious, depressed, avoiding, having distressing habits, or feeling hopeless like life isn't worth living. These behaviors are common with individuals who have experienced trauma , abuse, neglect, or who have had highly stressful or difficulties with family of origin, all of which can compromise your sense of self, safety, and your ability to maintain healthy relationships with those you love the most. Know that you are not alone, and that I can help.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
