You are anxious and stressed. You feel like no matter how hard you try, it’s just not good enough. You’re feeling overwhelmed by life; thinking that others’ problems are more serious and you don’t want to bring anyone down by sharing your struggles and challenges in relationships, parenting, work stress , and juggling the demands of life. Your best never feels quite good enough and you don’t know who to turn to. Whether it’s challenging relationships, coping with a loss, struggling through a transition, or work stress --you just don’t feel like you’re managing and definitely not thriving in your life.

I primarily use EMDR, hypnotherapy, and therapeutic art to help adolescents, teens and adults who are facing stress , anxiety, depression, workplace issues and family and interpersonal relationship conflicts to improve their overall quality of life and well-being.
Are you stressed out and anxious? Are you struggling with sleep problems because you're worrying too much? Do you suffer from past or recent trauma and have tried other methods of therapy but need deeper work? If you answered yes to any of these, my approach is to collaboratively explore your thoughts, beliefs and life experiences to help you gain self-knowledge and empower you to live a more satisfying life. Our work together will inspire you to cope with difficulties at work or at home in a more productive way. Extremely limited openings. If I cannot see you, I have 10 wonderful therapists on staff, 6 of whom are EMDR trained.

Feeling overwhelmed, confused, stressed, lost? Yearn to connect with life, yet, often become stuck? Navigating through life disconnections - with our spirit, families, partners, friends, work - can be exhausting and overwhelming. You have already tried going to your life "toolbox" (faith, family, friends, chocolate...). Together we can explore feelings, figure out how our own inner stories are actually adding to our stress , reconnect with our inner power to experience love, acceptance, and be our authentic self. Asking "How am I ever going to figure out..." is a good starting place. I can walk with you as we try to figure it out.

I provide individual therapy to adults (18+) dealing with issues such as life adjustments/ stress , relationship issues, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss.
Empathy, trust, shared presence. My belief is the process of therapy helps bring self-awareness to the strengths that one may not realize they have. Being human, we all face challenges and obstacles, but with non-judgmental support and understanding, inner strengths may flourish to face life's stressors in healthier, productive ways.

I am Qualified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction by the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness.
The choice to seek professional help is a courageous decision. Everyone has events in their lives with which they have to cope. Sometimes the coping techniques a person has used in the past don't work well anymore and they need help finding new ways to deal with those events. Or maybe it is some new change with which they have to deal. My clients and I work together to understand the changes and to develop adaptive coping skills needed to survive the events in their lives.

We often face difficult challenges and personal setbacks in life, but “ stress ” doesn’t have to become “distress”. You may be balancing a number of stressors, like work and relationships, while trying your hardest to keep anxiety or depression from getting in the way of personal goals. Whatever brought you here today, trying to cope with all everything on your own might feel almost impossibly overwhelming and lonely at times. But you aren't alone: together we can figure out ways for you to balance these stressors and overcome setbacks.

I primarily help adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, stress and trauma.
I believe people aren't meant to face life's challenges alone. We need the right support in order to build the confidence necessary to face every challenge our life offers. The solution isn't to know how to avoid these difficult situations, but rather, to develop the right skills to trust that we can overcome them. I help guide you through your mental health journey by providing the essential tools and support to not only accept your challenges but conquer them as well.

How can I find a therapist in San Antonio?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
