I work with clients navigating trauma, substance use, identity, relationships, and sexuality, including those looking for sex-positive and kink-affirming care.
There is a lot of pressure to know who you are, what you want, and what you are supposed to do next. In reality, most of us are figuring it out as we go. We outgrow old versions of ourselves, get stuck in patterns we do not fully understand, question our decisions, or simply realize something feels off. I enjoy working with young adults and adults who come to counseling for all kinds of reasons—whether you have something specific you want to work through or want to better understand yourself and the experiences that have shaped you.

I'm about love, self-compassion, radical acceptance, embracing failure, trusting your innate wisdom and starting over. I fundamentally believe in every person's ability to recover from trauma, addiction and life, in general. Experience has taught me that no one is really avoiding anything. When people accuse you of not dealing with something, what they are really saying is you aren't dealing with it the way they want you to. From my perspective, if you wake up every morning and breathe in and out all day long, you're dealing with your stuff. A tiny bit of intention is all it takes to begin healing.

Hi, I'm Kimberly Gallegos-Watson, a Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of KGW Counseling. I provide virtual therapy across Texas for women who are exhausted from carrying everyone else and are ready to reconnect with themselves, heal old wounds, and create lives that feel like their own. This might be you if you’re getting things done, showing up, and probably saying “I’m good” more than you mean it. Meanwhile, you’re overthinking conversations, struggling to relax, or feeling like one more thing might push you over the edge. It’s exhausting to keep functioning while feeling this way.

Making the decision to go to therapy is hard enough. Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable talking with about all the things in life that brought you to the office shouldn't be so hard. At Luna Evolution we understand these struggles. Do you know why? We know because therapists are just like everybody else. Being a therapist doesn't give us a "free pass" from all the struggles that can occur in life. That being said, we have the compassion, authenticity, and a sprinkle of humor to sit with you along your journey. No matter how big or small the situations, we have a therapist that will be your match in your journey.

How are you doing? What a powerful question, it seems easy, doesn’t it? Many times, people ask that question, not knowing what the response may be from the person asked. What if the person was truthful about how they are feeling at that moment in time, how would you respond? How would you want them to respond? Many would say they want someone empathetic, supportive, patient, helpful, and trustworthy. You're welcome to register with Wellnite to schedule an appointment with me.

Many adults seek therapy after years of managing high expectations, chronic stress, or patterns that no longer respond to willpower alone. You may feel stuck between insight and action—functioning well on the surface while internally exhausted, uncertain, or overextended. At this stage, what’s often needed is not reassurance, but clarity and disciplined, evidence-based work.

Sex-Positive, Kink Allied Therapists
Why might an individual want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
A sex-positive or kinky individual may want to see a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist because the client may feel safer and more supported discussing their experiences and challenges. A therapist who identifies as kink-friendly will have experience with clients having diverse sexual preferences and will likely be nonjudgmental and supportive about issues brought to the table. It is important to note that sex-positive, kink-allied individuals may find equal success with therapists who do not have such specialized knowledge and background. The most important factor in the success of therapy is for the client and practitioner to form a strong, trusting bond.

Do therapists have special training to gain expertise in sex-positive, kink-allied treatment?
Generally, no. There are limited training programs and unofficial accreditations that therapists can pursue, but a therapist’s expertise will ultimately come from their previous experience with similar clients, their engagement with organizations that promote sex positivity or kink-allied lifestyles, and the importance they place on safety and cultural sensitivity.

How can individuals recognize a good sex-positive, kink-allied therapist?
An experienced therapist is able to help clients explore their sexual identity and expression and relieve any discomfort or stigma attached to discussing such matters and the client’s overall challenges. A therapist who is sex-positive and kink-allied is able to create an environment that honors a client’s experience and sexual preferences. To recognize a good therapist, clients can simply ask directly about topics and issues important to them and gauge their comfort level and connection with a clinician based on the responses.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist with a focus on sex positivity and alternative sexual lifestyles?
Some individuals may feel most comfortable knowing that the clinician they’re working with has a commitment to creating an atmosphere of sex positivity and has experience with relationship diversity and alternative relationship structures. Working with a sex-positive, kink-allied therapist may help clients respect their own challenges and improve identity-affirming treatment.
