Other areas of concentration are Anxiety, Narcissistic Personality and Couple's Counseling.
As a Christian counselor I long to encourage and uplift. I consider it an honor when clients share their personal pain and struggle with me. Whatever your personal trial is right now, I want to establish a trusting relationship in which we can work through it together. Sometimes it just takes a caring counselor to process emotions with and other times an objective perspective or guidance may be needed. My integrative approach to counseling gives you the benefit of a wide range of options in seeking a peaceful solution to life's struggles.

When life presents challenges that are too difficult to overcome on your own, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and express your emotions. Working together, you and I will reveal your existing strengths and develop them into viable coping skills to overcome these challenges. I have personal experience, as a parent and a daughter, in dealing with the challenges of physical and mental disabilities. I have lived and worked in various regions of the United States and abroad thus I understand the feelings of isolation and uncertainty that can surface when in a new environment, situation, or even in every day circumstances.

I specialize in working with clients that have co-occurring disorders such as depression and substance abuse. I have found that many people will start self-medicating for depression and anxieties with alcohol and street drugs only to find themselves in an addiction they never wanted. I also specialize in Post-traumatic Stress Disorders. I will primarily provide services through Telemedicine portals to help protect the confidentiality of my clients who do not wish to be seen walking into or out of a mental health office.

Hello! I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in Texas with 15 years of experience working for a Psychiatric Hospital and eight years working as a community counselor, behavior modification, and life coach. My primary therapy orientation is person-centered, emphasizing the importance of the therapist/client relationship, which provides the client with a non-judgment zone. As a result, the client can express themselves fully, and with the help of the therapist, they can create a plan that best suits the client because no two clients are alike, and what works for one individual might not work for another.

My role in psychotherapy is simple. I work as a guide to help lead clients from 3rd dimensional consciousness to new levels of awareness. With the support of my guiding system and those of my clients', I act as a conduit to bring the information and energies that are needed in that point in time for the client's highest good. My approach is spiritual and energy psychology. It is based on the premise that all illness is mental illness and all healing must begin in psychotherapy.

I believe that we are created with potential for balance and harmony, however, life is not always easy, we may struggle at times to reach this balance. When we get "stuck" or face difficult challenges, we must first identify which areas of life need adjusting or strengthening, and then, we set out to make the necessary changes. Whether it is physical, emotional, spiritual or mental unbalance, we can positively impact our lives by starting to work in one area, and, since they are all connected, the rest will follow. The mind-body connection is undeniable, research and science favor an integrated approach to behavioral health.

I view counseling through a holistic lens, this means I focus on all the dimensions that make a person whole. My goal as a holistic counselor is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself on every level (psychological, physical, emotional, relational, spiritual). I specialize in trauma and fully realize the multitude of ways that trauma affects us (mind, body, spirit). I strive to provide a safe environment where you feel heard, understood, and validated. Together, you and I identify how your belief system has been altered by past experiences and unresolved trauma and work towards restoring your true self.

We all want a harmonious and peaceful connection with our love ones. Sometimes we find ourselves at an impasse with our partners, children, friends, or co-workers. These impasses act as barriers that keep our relationships from growing or moving forward. Counseling /therapy gives a person the opportunity to see a "barrier" from a different perspective while acquiring new skills to move through the barrier or eliminating the barrier it self. Many times our underline intentions are good ones but our solutions to a problem may become barriers themselves. We may just need a different perspective or create a new way of behaving.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
