I combine narrative therapy with CBT strategies and mindfulness training throughout treatment; as well as psycho-educational intervention.
You’ve been holding it together for everyone else, but inside, you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just… tired. Maybe you're navigating a life transition, healing from past pain, or trying to make peace with parts of yourself you’ve hidden for too long. You don’t have to figure it out alone. I'm passionate about helping others find a way through the darkness and weight of overwhelming emotions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in safe, non-judgmental spaces. Whether you’re craving clarity, connection, or just a space to exhale, I’m here to walk alongside you.

Life is a journey and everyone's trial and tribulations are different. In life, it is inevitable that change occurs and that can be an overwhelming venture to embark on alone. I can be a tool and a resource for you during your time of need. I am passionate about helping others; it is a calling in my life. As Elisabeth Kubler-Ross stated, "Beautiful people do not just happen." Ross's statement has always sparked a fire within me, as I know from personal and professional experience that strength comes from within and growth comes from pain, sometimes we just need a little help.

We provide supportive psychotherapy for patients with a serious illness or injury, who now live with chronic pain and impairment. It is not unusual to experience problems with stress, depression, and anxiety after a medical crisis, and to become isolated from the flow of life. You will be given an individual therapist to support you and help you learn about the specific skills, attitudes, and behaviors that help you slowly but steadily "push back" and regain quality of life.

My ideal client is someone who has carried emotional pain, trauma, or guilt for a long time. Many of the people I work with are veterans, first responders, or individuals who have experienced intense or life-altering situations. They may be dealing with PTSD, substance use, or a deep sense of loss, whether it's loss of purpose, connection, or identity. Some feel stuck, hopeless, or simply tired of pretending everything is okay. What they really want is relief, peace of mind, clarity, and a sense of direction. Meeting the clients where they are and helping them find meaning, connection, and hope one step at a time.

Do you feel like you're constantly on edge, battling racing thoughts or a heaviness that won’t lift? Maybe the weight of past trauma or daily pressure leaves you feeling stuck — questioning your worth, your strength, or your ability to move forward. Living with overwhelming thoughts or emotional pain can feel like you’re barely keeping your head above water, even when you’re doing everything you can to hold it all together. You deserve space to heal — and to feel whole again.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?
This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
