I am passionate about helping females (teens and adults) struggling with anxiety,
grief
, and self-confidence issues.
Do you find yourself worried or anxious throughout the day? Are your thoughts stuck on repeat, keeping you from living the life you want? Do you feel that stress has taken over the life you once enjoyed? My client-centered approach helps women lessen irrational thinking patterns and self-defeating behaviors. I meet each client where they are in their own person journey and support them as they connect with their true self.

I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma and

Life is difficult. There are so many things happening in the world right now. It can be hard to find someone who is free of burdens and turmoil in their own lives to talk to. Then there are those more specific things we may be dealing with that we cannot share with family or friends just yet. Counseling is a safe place to process and heal from most situations you may be facing right now whether it's relationship problems, job stress, time management or something more traumatic like domestic violence or a child who has experienced abuse. This is an opportunity to figure out how to start the healing process.

Overwhelmed? Trouble sleeping? Difficulties with daily tasks or decision making? Healing from
loss
? These situations can be very painful, and are common, especially given all the changes in our world the last two years. Unfortunately, many people are often hesitant to take the time or seek the support they need for themselves, which ends up impacting you as the individual and those around you. Together, we will find healing and understanding and you will find ways to manage your emotional pain, deal with everyday life issues as they come up; and to recognize and find meaning and purpose in your work, friendships and family.

A therapist serves as the element for change, decision-making, conflict resolution, and having the feeling that progress is achievable through therapy. My philosophy is to provide an atmosphere of no judgment, safety, and reassurance to address overwhelming stressors that create pain,
loss
, shame, fear, and guilt from childhood to adulthood. I can never think or feel your fears and insecurities. I will not put a silver lining on your life challenges by saying “I understand what you are feeling”. I want to share that moment with you and help you navigate those stuck feelings.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
