I have deep training in numerous trauma/addiction/couples therapies (psychodynamic, CBT, EMDR (EMDRIA trained), addictions,
Gestalt
) and have learned that amazing progress can be accomplished in/through these areas.
Online therapy is central in my practice. It is effective, convenient and greatly appreciated by my clients. Scheduling sessions works well with almost everyone's calendar. I focus on/value your needs first. As we check-in together, connection, trust and comfort create an honest space for you to share and grow. I approach therapy as a dynamic partnership - where proven technique and deep relational connection yield cognitive, emotional and spiritual integration. Honing technique to fit client needs + personalized connectivity yields clarity and growth. Moving through the process, we target and work toward this result...together.

My approach melds various approaches, a client-centered base, techniques from CBT, DBT, IPT,
gestalt
, and existential therapies, and a healthy dose of compassion.
There is very little in this world worth having that will not cause us to struggle and struggling does not mean that there is anything wrong with us. I believe that there is nothing more fulfilling than making a connection that costs us a little bit of vulnerability but leaves both of us feeling a brighter sense of hope. I also believe that our agency can carry us out of whatever rut that other forces might have left us in and that persisting in simple changes can help us get unstuck. If you feel stressed, overwhelmed, confused, alone, sad, or frustrated, there may be things about yourself that you can learn from and resolve.

My methods include the use of
Gestalt
techniques, Expressive Arts, EMDR (DeTUR protocol for addiction), & SandTray.
It's not easy to ask for help. Couples especially struggle to agree on when or if they want to attend counseling to work on their relationship. Seeking counseling is a demonstration of your commitment and dedication to your relationship and your own personal growth. Whether you're looking for a relationship, healing from a relationship, or are in a relationship you want to strengthen or repair, you're in the right place.

You just took your first step toward growth! I am passionate about working with pre-teens, teens, and young adults. During these special years of life, you may be flooded with ideas, feelings, and behaviors that are not easy to navigate alone. My personal philosophy is therapy is your car embarking on a journey of self-growth. You are the driver, and I am the passenger, here to help navigate you through difficult times (don’t worry I won’t use the emergency break unless you ask). You have the autonomy and agency to fulfill your goals no matter the obstacles. With me, you will not have to have to face those moments alone.

My style is primarily humanistic as I'm passionate about
Gestalt
therapy and transpersonal therapies.
Hello! My practice is grounded in psychology but inspired by the expansion of human consciousness. I am a deeply sensitive and curious therapist. I love to use metaphors, poetic improvisation, archetypes, body movement, breathwork, meditation, and lots of humor in my practice. I am deeply touched and inspired by topics related to feminism, de-colonization, psychedelic therapies, LGBTQIA+ community, the Latino movement, religious cult survivors, and the non-monogamous experience.

The schools that I most commonly pull from are Humanism,
Gestalt
Psychology, and Social Work Systems theories.
I have worked primarily with POC and other American Cultural Minority populations, including South Asian survivors of domestic and sexual violence, LGBTQIA+, and many others. As a second generation South Indian, I have extensive personal and professional experience with model minority stressors, cultural trauma, immigration abuse, religious abuse and various other struggles common for those that identify as a minority in America. I believe that therapy is meant to be a space of mutual collaboration, to help work towards and help understand those aspects of your life that motivated you to seek guidance.

I serve adult Texans. Many of my clients come to me with trauma, issues with confidence, self-esteem, depression, relationship issues, and anxiety. Their needs are primarily working on coping skills, validation, self-compassion, communication skills, ways to relieve stress and/or anxiety, and maintenance. Some goals include self-discovery, self-reflections, confidence in their skin and around others, and overall gaining confidence in decision making. My clients usually want someone to hear them out and to offer a new unbias perspective into their live. As your counselor, I want to help you to become the expert in your own life.

What is gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behavior, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.
How does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.
How long does gestalt therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.
Does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
