As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in helping people with anxiety, sexual and domestic abuse, and relationship issues.
I am a Christian Counselor and view ultimate hope and healing from a Biblical worldview, and if you do as well and consent, we will include this approach in our counseling work together. I believe we are all holistic beings in our very nature- mind, body, and soul and therefore experience all of life’s events holistically - the hurts and the healing.

I firmly believe in the capacity of human resilience, and the potential to build a balanced life. Life can present itself with unpredictable situations that may prevent us from reaching our full potential; in these moments seeking help can be beneficial. Having a compassionate, nonjudgmental counselor assist you through this transition can help clarify confusion, gain insight regarding your pain, and return your life to balance.

Do you ever feel like you have to be the “good” daughter, son, partner, or parent—always showing up for everyone else—while inside you’re struggling? From the outside, life may look fine, but inside it feels overwhelming. You don’t have to carry that alone. I specialize in working with BIPOC individuals who have experienced relational trauma and the ways it shows up in anxiety, depression, and trauma responses like excessive anger. I’m here to listen, to really see you, and to help you understand what’s behind those feelings. If this speaks to you, I encourage you to reach out—I’d be honored to walk beside you, you are not alone.

I am a licensed therapist in the state of Texas with years of experience working with women that have a history of trauma and abuse.
My virtual space is for folks experiencing the pain and discomfort of feeling 'othered' -feeling that internal chaos that results from being the proverbial square peg being shoved in a round hole. Maybe you are lacking community and authentic connections because showing up as your authentic, "weird" self hasn't felt like an option- until now. I can help you define your truest self so you can create the connections you deserve. I’ve worked to create the kind of non-judgmental therapy space where I’d want to find myself as a client— one where you can ugly cry & make dark-humored jokes within the same 50-minute session.

I will embrace your unique qualities and enjoy tailoring my therapeutic approach for each individual, couple or family. I am also very practical, striving to make therapy a collaboration between therapist and client, including helping the client set goals, and bridging barriers that exist to making changes. I chose this field because I find that through active listening and exploring each person's story, clients often find great insights and can change even the most troubling problems.

Will McAvoy once said, "Recognizing a problem is the first step toward solving it". If you are here, I want to acknowledge that you have recognized that something needs to change in your life for you to better enjoy it. To name a few: hopelessness, loneliness, self-doubt, low self-esteem, fear, stress, loss, etc. The list goes on but if any of these sounds familiar to you, you are not alone. That's how my service can help by first building new understanding and then providing new experiences so you can feel more fulfilled!

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
