I largely utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while working with individuals, couples and families to live a more wholehearted life.
I work primarily with older adolescents, and adults. As I believe we are a combination of mind, body and spirit, I address each area with compassionate care for supported growth. My openness and gentleness help me to therapeutically partner with clients seeking to make positive life changes.

You'll gain practical emotional regulation skills through Dialectical Behavior techniques.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself and others? Maybe anxiety, self-doubt, or past experiences are keeping you from living the life you truly want. You might find yourself repeating unhealthy patterns, struggling in relationships, or feeling uncertain about your next steps. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Combining this with DBT can also be beneficial in learning how to manage overwhelming emotions.
My great passion as a Health & Wellness Professional is to help you build a healthier relationship with food & your body, cultivate emotional agility to freely express yourself, & be able to communicate your needs/wants to others more effectively. While I’d love to help you improve your mental health through physical activity & balanced nutrition, I also understand that everyone’s starting point in therapy can look very different. It would be my pleasure in meeting you where you are in your journey to help build your own tool box of skills so that you can lead the life you deserve to live.

As a clinical social worker I have experience in using cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and brief solution focused.
The best part of being a therapist is being able to walk with a person as they explore their own personal growth and get through some of the most challenging parts of their life. I have the pleasure of helping by educating with tools and strategies that can be helpful along the way. I enjoy working with individuals as they learn to be their best selves and operate in the world they currently live in regardless of what that looks like. When working with clients I like to have a strengths-based focus as well as a holistic approach that considers the whole picture that can help with the overall wellness of the individual.

I frequently use a psychodynamic approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT/ DBT/ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
I believe in the resilience and capacity for growth within every individual, however, sometimes due to trauma or patterns of behavior, we become stuck. One may know their behavior is unhealthy or preventing growth, yet unaware of how to change. The process of therapy is exploring what is stopping you from living your best life and offering support and guidance to make changes. I have experience helping clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, adjustment to life transitions, relationship issues, and parenting concerns. My therapeutic style is collaborative, person-centered, and solution focused.

At my clients request, who identify as believers AND non-believers, I utilize a Christian counseling approach along with various others like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work with teens, kids, adults, and seniors. Do you want to experience things like growth, change, and healing? Are you experiencing challenges in life and even mental health ones? I help by treating the SOURCE of what you are facing. The source is a ‘root cause’ or a ‘seed’ of how it started. Examples of the source include things that happened to you as a child, a current situation, or negative thinking patterns that you may have.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
