A client is someone who’s doing their best but feels weighed down by stress, anxiety, or emotions that are hard to manage alone. They may be facing depression, trauma, relationship issues, or major life changes that leave them feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. They’re not looking for help because they’re weak — they’re looking because they’re ready for something different. They want clarity, emotional stability, healthier coping skills, and a stronger sense of control so they can move forward with confidence.

In today's society we are experiencing so much change, chaos, crises, and self-discovery. It is absolutely common to feel fear, anxiety, confusion, and anger. It is also very common for these changes to cause challenges in communication with others. The focus of therapy is to allow a safe space for exploration, expression and empowerment.

Renew your mind. Transform your life. Imagine carrying the weight of unspoken stress, past wounds, or roles that never gave you space to pause and breathe. Maybe you’re an everyday person showing up for others but feeling unseen yourself—a man who's always had to “be strong,” an elder navigating life transitions, a faith-filled woman wrestling with doubt or disappointment, or someone simply tired of just getting by. You want peace in your mind, healing in your relationships, and clarity about who you are and where you’re going. You’re not asking for perfect—you’re asking to feel whole, seen, and equipped to move forward.

Waitlist for new clients
Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to click on my profile. Typically, the clients that I work with are looking for support for self-esteem, stress management, ADHD, anxiety, depression, as well as other mental health issues and living on the spectrum. On your mental health journey, two of the most important factors in finding a therapist are finding someone with whom you can build rapport and feel accepted, and finding one who has education and insight into your specific challenges. I work well with clients who are open to learning new strategies and gaining new insight on how to view and navigate the challenges that they face.

Living with the weight of depression, fear, trauma, or grief can make it feel impossible to see anything clearly. When life feels heavy, even simple daily tasks can start to lose their meaning. If you’re in that place, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it by yourself. I believe that reaching out for support is an act of courage and deep self-care. In our sessions, my hope is that you feel safe enough to meet yourself with gentleness, curiosity, and honesty. Together, we’ll explore your story, your strengths, and the parts of you that have been pushed into the shadows for far too long.

Emotional pain ... sucks. I can help your pain. Flashbacks, nightmares and PTSD respond very well to EMDR, as do intrusive thoughts and disturbing memories. I have been using it since 1993, so early that Francine Shapiro, the creator of EMDR, trained me herself. In addition, my basic training is Marriage and Family so I excel in relationships. But memories cause most of our problems.

As your therapist and the owner of Harmony Social Services, I create space to fully focus on you—setting aside my own judgments and distractions so I can listen deeply, intentionally, and with purpose. I pay close attention to your story, your patterns, and the ways your past and present experiences are shaping how you feel and function today. Together, we begin to identify what may be keeping you stuck—whether that’s unhealed wounds, trauma, or deeply held beliefs that no longer serve you. From there, I help you move out of those patterns and toward a life that feels more grounded, meaningful, and free.

Our gathered thoughts about any situation play a critical role. Our attitude and perception over an extended period of time determines overall state of mind, that in turn affects our outlook on life. Unresolved issues, focusing on our down falls, over thinking about past events, determines our present life situation, our coping mechanisms, our choices and relationships. Se ofrecen todos los servicios en espanol si es el idioma de preferencia.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
