I use an attachment-based lens to guide the therapeutic process.
My areas of focus are family of origin issues, dissociative disorders, and complex PTSD. I help clients “update” or transform their own relationship to their need for connection to themselves and others.

Now accepting NEW clients! There's a reason they say "It takes a village to raise a child." Let's be honest, raising little humans is one of life's biggest challenges. I proudly serve children (3-13 yrs old) who may be struggling with big emotions & behaviors, developmental transitions, or child/adult mental health issues. Using a playful, client-centered & attachment-based approach, I can begin to understand & communicate with your child. I can actively support & guide them as s/he/they make sense of their feelings and behaviors.

Do you often find yourself lost in thought, feeling like you're spiraling or trapped in your head? Are you mentally and emotionally exhausted from constantly trying to 'figure out' the meaning behind your distressing thoughts? Perhaps checking things, counting, or ruminating temporarily relieves your distress until you find yourself NEEDING to do them over and over again. You're tired, overwhelmed, hopeless, and afraid. You want relief but find security in the chaos. You're not alone.

Do you feel overwhelmed by the pressure to be the “perfect mom,” constantly worrying about every decision and its impact on your kids? You’re carrying the weight of trying to be everything to everyone, all while fearing you’re not doing enough. You may struggle to say no, worry about disappointing others, or find yourself missing out on the joy of motherhood. But you’re ready to make a change. You’re ready to set boundaries, let go of guilt, and show up for yourself without fear. Most importantly, you’re ready to find peace in motherhood and offer your family, and yourself, the best version of you.

I am so grateful to be a therapist. I possess the skill to completely block off my own needs and desires for a solid hour where I listen fully, intently, and with purpose to your story. I hear stories of your childhood, friendships, career hopes, parenting, and fears. Meanwhile, I look for patterns in your speech, mood, relationships and find out what blockages, unhealed wounds, or stuck point beliefs stop you from reaching the quality of life you are hoping for. I then help you personally walk out of the prisons in your mind into freedom. I LOVE my job.

Hi, I'm so glad you're here! I believe we are all meant to live a life we truly love and feel excited about living, but through our life experiences and traumas we picked up beliefs and behaviors that can keep us stuck in unwanted patterns. My goal for us is to identify the unhelpful blocks, process them, and create new narratives that truly align with your unique heart and spirit. I believe in taking a holistic approach with clients. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher and Reiki Practitioner which influences my approach.

You are not broken, and you do not need fixing. However, therapy can be a tool to help you work on parts of your life that leave you feeling dissatisfied. It can be hard to ask others for help, and too many times we tend to keep our feelings locked inside. For those of us existing in a variety of roles- as a parent, a child, a sibling, a working professional, a student, and a friend- we are taught to be strong and do for others before we do for ourselves. This can be harmful and can lead to burnout in all aspects of our lives.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
