I help individuals facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, life transitions, parenting issues, and women's issues.
I am a personable, bilingual clinician who believes therapy is for everyone in search of overcoming life obstacles. I believe healing and progress can be obtained through a collaborative approach to therapy. My goal is to offer clients a non-judgmental space where anyone feels safe to face their struggles and challenges. The decision to start therapy can feel unfamiliar and scary, however, it would be my honor to help overcome those fears by starting this journey of improvement and change with you.

I specialize in eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and am CPT trained for PTSD.
Limited session times available. If you feel like life is overwhelming and you don't know how to cope, it's okay to ask for help. It could be that school, work, family life, parenting (or doing all of them at the same time) are creating immense stressors. Or maybe events from your past are making it difficult to do what matters to you. Know that you are not alone and you don't have to walk through this by yourself.

Life can be messy and leave you stuck in your feelings of anxiety, shame or depression. You may feel like you are drowning in your emotions and feelings, while having thoughts that are hard to handle alone. Maybe you have been isolating, acting out or making bad choices, leaving your parents, friends, and teachers struggling with how to help you. You might find yourself shutting down out of frustration when everyone around you just doesn't seem to get it.

Acknowledging that you might be in over your head isn't weak, it's wise. Have you tried calming techniques, but your anxiety still attacks you? Or relationships always seem to go sour or you never quite feel at ease even when everything's OK? Maybe it's time to look a little deeper. It's not that cutting off toxic people or upping your cardio won't help, because they probably will! But sometimes the wound goes deeper than that or the situation you're in is just too overwhelming to sort through on your own. When things like that go unaddressed, they sabotage even our best efforts at creating the life we want.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
