You are not a diagnosis. You are an individual that just wants to have your brain be sharper; be calmer; or having your child have a better experience in school. My clients are tired of medications and want to see more permanent improvements in their daily lives. ADD, ADHD,
anxiety
, depression....almost everything that stems from the brain benefits from neurofeedback. Adults who feel "foggy", unmotivated and chaotic, use this therapy to optimize their brain. My clients are generally between 7 and 75 years of age. They have sleep issues, chronic stress or may not engage with others well. I can help you.

I have been working with people experiencing PTSD, Depression/
Anxiety
. Drug Addiction, Bipolar Disorder, and Family issues... My general position is that our emotions serve a purpose, (like a check engine light on the dashboard of a car). After we check and repair the engine, the light goes out... If the issue remains unchecked and unrepaired, the light gets stronger and more insistent... I will work hand-in-hand with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and MD's, if needed. However, I believe that the use of meds is only one step on the road to recovery.

You're too smart for treatment, too stressed to think clearly, and too caught up in holding your life together with duct tape to realize how much your challenges have taught you. I work with men who are challenged by
anxiety
, depression, and substances, and the people their conditions have impacted. I also work with men who have adapted other imperfect coping skills that are negatively impacting their families and careers. Working together, often directly with wives and children, we can build a life of confident and antifragile masculinity for men in distress. You don't have to freak out every time you hear "we need to talk."

If you could talk to someone and vent your
fears
and frustrations without judgment, feel validated in your challenges and gain perspective on your life you’d feel better.
You are anxious and stressed. You feel like no matter how hard you try, it’s just not good enough. You’re feeling overwhelmed by life; thinking that others’ problems are more serious and you don’t want to bring anyone down by sharing your struggles and challenges in relationships, parenting, work stress, and juggling the demands of life. Your best never feels quite good enough and you don’t know who to turn to. Whether it’s challenging relationships, coping with a loss, struggling through a transition, or work stress--you just don’t feel like you’re managing and definitely not thriving in your life.

I have helped others with: depression,
anxiety
, physical or sex abuse, PTSD, bipolar depression, dissociative disorders, phobias, chronic pain, migraines, and performance
anxiety
.
Emotional pain ... sucks. I can help your pain. All therapists use the same basic tools. So do I and I do some things not everyone does. PTSD responds very well to EMDR. I have been using it since 1993, so early that Francine Shapiro, the creator of EMDR, trained me herself. In addition I have trauma training from the Ross Institute. Colin Ross is arguably the expert on treating the consequences of trauma including DID and other dissociative disorders. In addition, my basic training is Marriage and Family so I excel in relationships. But memories cause most of our problems.

For too long, “GET OVER IT” has been the advice that so many have heard. It’s not that easy when you are feeling alone; like no one understands you or what you have been through. When you are having flashbacks, nightmares, triggers and when you live with constant
anxiety
, depression and physical symptoms, IT’S OK TO ASK FOR HELP! It’s not weakness when you seek out help through therapy. On the contrary, it shows incredible strength. I provide a warm, calm, non-judgmental, supportive and safe environment. I am LGBTQ-affirming. The therapy session is yours, not mine, and we go at a pace that is comfortable to you.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
