I specialize in trauma informed care, OCD, anxiety, depression, codependency, family conflict, self-esteem, relationship concerns, grief, body image issues, mood disorders, and compulsive behaviors.
We’ll start by understanding what you’re experiencing day to day, not just the labels, but how it actually feels in your life—your thoughts, body responses, relationships, and coping patterns. From there, we work together to slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and identify what may be keeping you stuck.

I'm Jeffrey Chupik — a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor based in Central Texas. I founded Chupik Behavioral Health to offer therapy that's honest, grounded, and practical. My work centers on the issues that often go unspoken — addiction, anxiety, the weight of old trauma, and the quiet pressure many men carry without realizing they're carrying it. I believe change happens in real conversation, not in scripts or jargon, and my job is to meet you where you are. I work with adults and teens (13+), both in my Central Texas office and via telehealth across the state. Whether you're at the very beginning of figuring this out

In our lives we will experience suffering, hardship and brokenness. Our lives are impacted individually and relationally by it. Often we find ourselves enraged, running, or hiding as we come into contact with areas of life that seem uncontrollable and daunting. The burden weighs heavy as we are unable to be who we were created to be. The depth of suffering becomes magnified in ourselves and our relationships and we desire for a lasting change. Sometimes holding to a Biblical worldview can make your source of counsel an added stressor in a hard season. Knowing that your counselor has the same worldview can be helpful and reassuring.

We specialize in treating anxiety disorders and OCD in kids and adults.
For as long as you can remember, your child’s been an anxious kid. You hoped they’d grow out of it, but it only seems to get worse. Getting them to school each day is a tear-filled struggle and you're struggling with how to help them. They beg you to stay home or avoid activities they used to love. Every anxious experience limits thieir world further. You try your best to accommodate their feelings, but you worry you’re making things worse. It’s getting to the point where all they seems comfortable doing is playing alone at home. Something has to change.

Although anxiety can be helpful for us in our daily life, too much anxiety can make it more challenging for us to live the life we want. Other life difficulties can also feel like obstacles that need to be overcome. We can feel overwhelmed and powerless in those moments. Know that in these hard times, you are absolutely brave. You are also not alone. If you are interested in wanting more support with these challenges in a safe and open-minded environment, you have come to the right place!

My approach to therapy centers on the belief that people are capable of profound change when given the right support. I believe it important to provide a judgment-free space where people are seen as a whole person rather than their presenting concern. I work with individuals and families of all ages, respecting each person’s unique story as we process and navigate life’s many challenges together.

Anxiety, OCD, and burnout often leave you running on empty, with a mind that won't quiet down.
If you are the one people count on, you're probably used to staying calm on the outside even when your mind is racing inside. Helping professionals and caregivers often carry a lot without much room to breathe. It shows up as exhaustion you can't sleep off, a mind that won't quiet down, or a growing sense that you've lost yourself somewhere in the middle of it all. I work with adults caught in cycles of overthinking, worn down by chronic stress, or trapped in patterns they can't seem to break, and help them finally feel like themselves again.

My expertise in school psychology, OCD, chronic health conditions, autism, ADHD, Tourette's and its triad, and combinations of these issues, and experience in a medical system give me a unique understanding of the struggles your child is facing.
If children came with instruction manuals, parenting would be so much easier; but they don’t, and being a parent is one of the most difficult jobs in today’s busy world. As a parent, I understand how difficult it can be to manage, teach, and help your child overcome adversities to reach his or her potential. When your child struggles, your teen lashes out, or they are crippled with anxiety, you may feel frustrated or overwhelmed… or both. As a professional, my passion is helping parents and their children, tweens, teens and young adults through life’s challenges--to feel competent to handle their lives.

I have a special interest in obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobias, and social anxiety.
Everyone feels anxious in certain situations. Anxiety motivates us to prepare for important events and protects us when we are in harm's way. However, anxiety becomes problematic when it is out of proportion to the situation in a way that interferes with a child's ability to learn, maintain friendships, and have fun. Affecting approximately one in eight children, anxiety disorders are the most frequently occurring behavioral health disorders. Though anxiety disorders are among the most treatable behavioral health disorders, only about one-third of those suffering from anxiety receive treatment.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
