I believe therapy should feel like a conversation—not an interrogation, a lecture, or a test you have to pass. My job is to offer a space where you can be messy, honest, unsure, hurting, hopeful, or anything in between. When we work together, I show up as a real person—curious, compassionate, and steady. I help you untangle what’s heavy, learn what’s underneath the patterns that keep repeating, and build tools that actually fit your life. We’ll slow down when things feel overwhelming, ground ourselves when emotions take over, and celebrate growth in ways that feel meaningful to you.

If you've spent years battling trauma, emotional eating, or feeling disconnected from yourself, you're not alone. Healing is possible, and therapy can help you move beyond surviving into truly living. Having lost over 190 pounds myself, I've seen firsthand how deeply trauma, self-worth, and our relationship with our bodies can become intertwined. Many clients come to me after trying therapy before but still feel emotionally stuck. EMDR and other experiential therapies help clients process painful experiences—not just understand them intellectually—so lasting change becomes possible.

It's a common reason why parents seek therapy, often because they are seeing their child act out, withdraw, or simply not be themselves.
Play therapy helps children process their feelings & experiences in a way that feels natural to them. For teens/pre-teens, we use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, & EMDR. We also work collaboratively with parents to enhance their parenting skills & provide guidance on how to best support their child's emotional growth at home.

I enjoy helping people grow into their full potential. I believe all people have the ability to live their best possible life if they have truth, healthy desires, and an accurate sense of self. I offer to support you professionally with your own journey towards the life and relationships you desire, in a way that honors your integrity as a person. Everyone is different so no one treatment plan fits all and often times obstacles are complex. I consider it an honor to counsel and it is a privilege I don't take lightly. Honesty, humility, respect and loyalty are necessary qualities I bring into the therapeutic relationship.

Most of my clients are tired of carrying everything by themselves. They’re exhausted by anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship patterns that keep repeating, or feeling like they’re surviving instead of living. I work best with people who want more than a place to vent. They’re ready to understand themselves, challenge what’s keeping them stuck, and do the work to create lasting change. I’ll help you make sense of the “why,” but we’ll also focus on what to do next so progress doesn’t stay inside the therapy office.

Relationships can be difficult to navigate, both with others and with oneself, and not having the right tools can make a difficult job even more challenging! Add to this day-to-day life events and unprocessed trauma, and it can be easy to feel like things will not get better, leaving you feeling empty and hopeless. I want to be there on your journey by holding a safe space for you, helping you process your thoughts and feelings, learning who you are and what you need, and supporting you as you learn new skills, strengthen the ones you already have, process your trauma safely, and develop and nurture healthy relationships.

I work within the stream of cognitive behavioral therapies, most typically with ACT ( Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and/or DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) techniques.
Stormy, racing thoughts. Arguments and conflicts. Emotional pain. Old hurts. Worries about the future. Quick to anger or to run. Behavioral habits blocking the life you want. These are the kinds of life challenges that I specialize in working with to help you build the highest expression of YOUR life. I can help you see terrain, as you climb the mountain of your life, that you might not be able to see from your position. I use dialog, compassion, attention to the now, and values-based action in working with you. I particularly have specialized in areas around anxiety, anger/aggression, couple's issues, partner violence, and trauma.

In today’s world, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves and our feelings. So if you’ve felt a little lost or stuck, like something just isn’t right, or maybe even felt nothing at all, therapy is a great space to figure things out.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
