I specialize in Brainspotting, a powerful brain-body therapy similar to EMDR, designed to process what traditional talk therapy often cannot reach.
I work with people who carry pain that feels too heavy or hard to set down—trauma, dissociation, attachment wounds, religious or sexual trauma, or struggles with identity and belonging. You may feel disconnected from your body, emotions, or sense of self, even when life looks “fine” on the outside. My work is neurotransformational and body-aware, helping the brain reprocess how it holds trauma so healing can happen at the root, allowing you to feel safer inside yourself, gain clarity and relief, and live with greater authenticity and connection.

I use Brainspotting, a gentle, highly effective approach that helps your nervous system process what’s stuck and find regulation, so you can feel more present, grounded, and like yourself again.
I work with couples who feel caught in painful cycles of conflict, disconnection, or emotional distance. Many come in feeling hurt, misunderstood, and unsure how to return to the closeness they once had. Often, the very ways they try to fix things make it worse. Together, we identify the patterns at play and uncover the deeper needs beneath the conflict. My approach helps you communicate more effectively, rebuild trust, and restore the connection, safety, and intimacy your relationship was meant to hold.

Something isn’t working anymore. Maybe you and your partner keep having the same fight, trust has been broken, or you’ve become more like roommates than the people you once chose. Or maybe the struggle is inside - you look capable on the outside, but anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship wounds or old patterns keep following you into the life you’re trying to build. At Embrace New Life, we help adults and couples understand what is happening beneath the pattern, heal what is hurting, and build healthier relationships - with themselves and with the people they love.

Sometimes life changes before we feel ready for it. Other times, the relationships, roles, circumstances, or ways of coping that once worked no longer fit. You may wonder, Who am I now? What happens next? How do I move forward? I work with children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, life transitions, and identity. Whether change is expected or unexpected, welcomed or painful, I help clients understand what they are experiencing, adjust to what has changed, and begin rebuilding a sense of stability, confidence, and self.

What if your anxiety, self-doubt, and exhaustion aren’t signs that something is wrong—but invitations to reconnect with your deeper self? The world feels heavier than ever. The pressure to keep up, the unpredictability of what’s next, and the demand to perform can leave you wondering—How do I move? Where do I belong? How do I reclaim my power? Feeling highly anxious/emotionally reactive/disconnected from your body can create cycles of overthinking, burnout, and self-doubt. You may find yourself “performing” success while secretly battling imposter syndrome and the weight of past experiences shaping how you move through the world.

I offer individual, group, and family therapy through EMDR, CBT, Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused CBT.
Something feels off and you haven't felt like yourself in a while. You're exhausted from holding everything together while silently falling apart inside. Maybe you're a mom who has poured everything into everyone else and forgotten what it feels like to pour into yourself. Or maybe you're the woman who appears to have it all together but is privately haunted by the fear of failure, the weight of perfectionism, and the ache of never feeling like enough. Perhaps grief has been weighing heavy or you've spent so long saying yes that you've forgotten who you even are anymore... You don't have to figure it out before you reach out.

As a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed chemical dependency counselor, I offer several counseling services including brainspotting, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and guided mindfulness meditation.
Many people struggle to navigate work, relationships, family, and general day to day life. There are genetic and environmental reasons that lead to feelings of sadness, anxiety, loneliness, substance use, and mental health issues. There may be a serious setback that occurred or many, seemingly, small things that build throughout life. Often, clients aren't sure what the cause of the hindrance may be, others have an idea but are unsure how to approach the healing process. Deciding on your goals for your present and future is the first step to attaining what you want in life.

Are you having trouble regulating your emotions, unable to set your own boundaries or respect other people’s boundaries? Do you find yourself often saying yes when really, you want to say no? Do you expect things to go your way, and fall apart when it doesn’t? Do you find yourself in relationships with the same person but with a different name? It’s a pattern. Your childhood may be the cause of today’s behavior patterns and contribute to emotional dysregulation which could include feeling helpless, frustrated, and trapped.

I use EMDR, Brainspotting, and parts work/IFS.
I focus on supporting people in creating lasting change. My clients are high functioning successful individuals who also find themselves struggling to manage anxiety, trauma, OCD, or an addictive behavior that seems to take the drivers seat in their life more often than they would like. I also treat partners or family members trying to manage their own recovery from betrayal trauma in response to their loved one's behaviors. Often, these concerns have roots and stories that go further back, and we work simultaneously on past, present, and future to tackle getting the results you want to see. My style is warm yet direct and clear.

Brainspotting Therapists
How does brainspotting work?
Brainspotting works by using eye positioning to identify and process traumatic memories so that a client is better able to move forward and live with less fear. The theory behind brainspotting is that by identifying where a person looks when thinking of traumatic memories, a therapist will be able to guide them to focus on that spot and work with the client to get them out of the “fight, flight, freeze” response associated with the traumatic memory.

Is brainspotting an evidence-based therapy?
Brainspotting is a theory-based alternative therapy. It is one of the newest forms of treatment, so very little research has been completed that examines the mechanism by which it works. The theory behind brainspotting is that eye position can be linked to areas of the brain that store and process memory.

How effective is brainspotting?
Because it is such a new treatment, the effectiveness of brainspotting cannot be quantified. Some people have found it to be effective on its own, or in conjunction with other types of therapy. It is considered an alternative therapy, and it is popular with people for whom more traditional therapies have proven ineffective.

How long does brainspotting take to work?
A typical brainspotting session will last between 60 to 90 minutes. There is no required number of sessions needed to complete brainspotting therapy, but in many cases it is delivered over the course of about six sessions. Clients are encouraged to rate their level of distress prior to a session and again following a session, and to track progress.
