Hello! Perhaps you are searching Psychology Today for a loved one or for yourself, or simply to acquaint yourself with counseling. I commend for exploring your options. I have over nine years of experience providing therapy for a variety of issues. When clients begin therapy, many of them are searching for a space to fully express themselves and to process their struggles. Many are looking for a safe person to confide in without feeling judged. My hope is that you find that here and begin to identify ways to move forward.

Do you find that anxiety, relationship conflict, or chronic stress are hard to overcome? Do you notice any patterns? Do the same arguments repeat? What do you notice as distance grows in your relationships? You may be managing neurodivergence, a chronic health condition, or the weight of complex family dynamics. You are curious about where these patterns come from and are ready to honestly examine your role in them. You are looking for a therapist who can understand your full context. I work with marginalized populations (i.e., LGBTQAI2S+ or Latine/a/o) and Monolingual Spanish-Speaking (Terapia Bilingue).

My ideal client is someone struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, or chronic pain who has not found sufficient relief from standard treatments. They are thoughtful, motivated, and seeking a medically grounded option rather than a quick fix. They want to understand their symptoms, feel safe during treatment, and work with a physician who takes their concerns seriously. Their goal is meaningful improvement—greater clarity, emotional stability, and the ability to re-engage with life—while remaining connected to therapy and ongoing care.

Therapy offered in person in Bellaire or online, with after-school and Saturday appointments available to fit busy family schedules.
If you’re here, you may be worried about your child in a way that’s hard to put into words. Maybe emotions feel bigger than they should, anxiety is taking over daily life, behavior has changed, or school and friendships have become a struggle. Many parents I work with sense that something is off—but feel unsure how to help without making things worse or overwhelming their child even more. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families using a strengths-based, relational approach. My work focuses on helping kids feel safe, understood, and connected—often before they have the words to explain what’s going on inside.

You may find that you do not recognize yourself anymore due to constantly walking on egg shells and being conditioned to believe you are not good enough. Emotional abuse is not easily recognized and can keep you trapped for years in the same cycle. The gaslighting can cause you to question your own reality and those around you may not even see it. Trauma can wire your brain differently and most symptoms you are experiencing could be a trauma response. We will recenter your nervous system and explore childhood messages given to you that impact you still today

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
