One of our deepest human needs is to feel heard and understood. I am here to listen. Over time, our experiences and beliefs shape how we move through life, and challenging situations such as loss, divorce, natural disasters, school stress, and other life transitions can make it difficult to move forward. As Brené Brown states, “Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they are necessary.” I aim to provide the support you need as you navigate these challenges.

"If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude" –Maya Angelou. Change will always be a constant in our lives, but many struggle to accept it. Whether it's our attitude, mood, thoughts, or even habits and behaviors, when we decide to change, the process can be challenging and confusing, and sometimes hard to know where to start. That's where I come in. My mission is to support clients on their journey towards change, empower them to see possibility and purpose through goal setting, and to help them navigate life struggles in a healthy way by learning and applying appropriate coping skills.

I believe it is an honor to be able to work with clients during particularly challenging periods of their lives. I believe God has a purpose and a plan for each of us. Sometimes we need a time of reflection and evaluation of our perspectives to be able to move forward. Seeds of depression and anxiety can be hindering God’s best for our lives. The great news is that these can be overcome.

You wake up determined that today will be different (right?). But by mid-morning, you’ve already agreed to things you don’t have time or energy for, and your inner critic is in full force. From the outside, you seem calm, capable, and composed. On the inside, you're overwhelmed and likely crying. You know the value of self-care, you’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, but actually following through feels deeply uncomfortable, even impossible. I help clients quiet self-criticism, reduce overwhelm, and build confidence. Together, we work toward helping you feel more grounded, empowered and enough exactly as you are.

Now Accepting New Clients! Life can be challenging and sometimes we are told to be strong despite these hard times. Some are taught a definition of being strong is to act like you’re okay, even when you really want to go hide. Some are taught to pretend you have it all in order. Many are taught to keep pushing and move past things, not knowing moving past leads to suppression that will surface later on in life rather we want it to or not. I am passionate about helping others through such difficult times and encourage them to process the past while also working on the present.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
