After completing my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at The University of Texas at Dallas, I began work as a case manager in mental health. Throughout my education, I was provided the opportunity to study and practice many approaches to be able to provide the most effective treatment that meets the needs of my clients. With my clinical experience I have had the opportunity to work with adolescents and adults with various life experiences and problems.

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, MS, NCC, LCDC
I entered the counseling profession to help individuals get to the root of their struggles in order to discover their true potential. I am qualified to treat clients struggling with various mental health and substance abuse issues however, because of my educational and career background in criminal justice and substance abuse, I specialize in clients who are struggling in these areas.
I approach counseling with a biological, psychological, sociological, holistically, and Christian viewpoint in order to help couples, families, and individuals reach goals. I have worked with a wide range of people that struggle with personal and family issues. I specialise in Trauma/Abuse using the EMDR Therapy modality. I am working on my Doctoral Degree as a Family and Marriage Therapist. I have an extensive approach to the family system and focus on empowering people to manage and conquer dysfunctional behaviors.
One of the greatest privileges as a therapist is the ability to join with my clients during times when they feel alone, to help them to see a spark of light during times of darkness and to allow them to realize their strength during times of weakness. How we perceive our struggles and how we choose to move forward and face them can make all the difference. For over 10 years, I have been honored to support individuals, couples and families as they take the brave step of embarking on the path toward healing.
Navigating life's challenges can be daunting at times, especially when we try to go it alone. I provide a safe and sacred space in which to collaboratively explore and find a way through the struggles you are facing. Whether the nature of your problems is personal (such as, healing from abuse/trauma, grief/loss, self-esteem, addiction, anxiety or depression), or interpersonal (couple or marital issues, parent-child relationships, social, school or workplace concerns), I believe I possess the training, skills, experience, and the desire to help you and/or your loved one on your journey toward healing.

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, MS, NCC
As an LPC-Associate, I am supervised by Rita Hernandez, M.A., LPC-S. Thank you for stopping by my profile. You may feel stuck, stressed, sad, or all three at once. Sometimes that can look like trouble navigating relationships and major life decisions, lashing out in anger, or crying easily. Maybe events or relationships from your past negatively affect you today. Maybe you don't know why you feel the way you do and that's okay. Let's work together on a path towards finding greater peace, strength, and fulfillment. I offer a safe space for you to be your genuine self.
So many of us are suffering because we are unconsciously holding on to limiting beliefs and maladaptive coping behaviors that have helped us to survive in the past, but are no longer serving us in the present. We fear our own shadow and conceal parts of us that we have been taught not to like — the parts that make us human. This causes our actions to be driven by fear, doubt, and shame rather than freedom, confidence, and love. You have the power to be the person who takes up space confidently, honor your needs, and live from a place of freedom and unconditional love.
As a clinical therapist and previous mental health provider, I have worked for several years providing social service and supportive guidance to a diverse population of clientele, in various settings, to face challenges presented by mental health disorders, emotional/behavioral problems, and oppressed/at risk environmental factors. I also received specialized training in the areas of trauma, neglect, and sexual abuse while completing my internship at The Children's Assessment Center of Houston. Along with my independent practice, I currently provide contractual therapeutic services for Children's Assessment Center of Houston and Harris County District Court STAR Family Intervention Program.
*IN PERSON/ EVENING APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE* Whether you have a new stressor or a long standing one that you want to work through, I welcome the opportunity to provide support and guidance. I offer a nonjudgmental space to process your concerns and help find solutions that work for you. I enjoy helping clients reduce stress, enhance coping skills, and find balance. I also work with individuals and couples to improve relationships by identifying areas of conflict and enhancing communication. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to guide someone through adjustment to an illness as well as the processing of grief/loss.
No one is immune to life-challenges and sometimes you need a professional who knows how to guide you through difficult circumstances compassionately, skillfully and efficiently.
With nearly 20 years of experience providing individual, group, and couples therapy for children, adolescents and adults, I not only understand the many colors of pain, I also know pathways to healing.
Because of my passion to help as many people as I can, I received broad-based training and have established a general practice focused on treating common conditions including depression, grief, anxiety, divorce, abuse, ADHD, marital difficulties, anger, infertility, childhood disorders, PTSD, and many others.
Please call for availability. I believe every individual has the ability to rise above their tribulations, and through their life experiences, find a deeper connection to self and others. My philosophy is based on a person-centered holistic approach with a heavy reliance on cognitive-behavioral therapy. Through my work, I strive to inspire others to increase their self-awareness, connect their body-mind split, and release negative thoughts and patterns that interfere with their inner peace.
